JackFetch
Now there is a movie I can't believe hasn't been remade in the typical Hollywood fashion.
dc20willsave
Paul Walker died in a car accident. I know it's not funny but I swear, all things considered, it's just... of all the ways for the guy who made his career off of car chase movies to die... JackFetch
That's a bad way to go. He wasn't even the one driving. They are still filming the new F&F movie, but he probably got all his scenes done since they started back in September. Then again, they were set to film all over the world so they might have to re-write it if they didn't get to film in the more exotic locations. edit: I just looked it up, and they were supposed to film in Abu Dhabi in January. I don't know what they can do without him. Hopefully they shot his closeups already.
Stavros
I was never his biggest fan but that's just terrible to hear. I'm sure this is going to have a bizarre effect on the franchise going forward. The closest thing to this I can think of is Brandon Lee. Rjoyadet
Concept art for the Miyasaki Pippi Longstocking film that never was. Thank you for sharing this.

I remember when George Harrison died, my parents paid their respects by playing his first solo album. I won't be surprised if my sister will do something similar with a Fast and Furious marathon. dc20willsave
Disney officially now has marketing and distribution rights to Indiana Jones.
JasonC
They're buying up everything. Are they trying to own Hollywood?
dc20willsave
They already owned quite a bit of Indy, it just means that if there's a new one, it's all going to be under the Disney Banner.
JasonC
As someone said on Facebook, next thing you know they'll buy up Bond.

Gareth
The guy who wrote the screenplay for the critically acclaimed 12 Years a Slave, wrote the Static Shock episode, Toys in the Hood...
dc20willsave
And Akiva Goldsmith, who wrote Batman and Robin, won an Oscar for A Beautiful Mind. Okay, bad example.
Stavros
And the cinematographer for Cool as Ice did Schindlers List a year later.
Gareth
It's not a cinematographer's fault if a movie is bad.
slothian
It's not a cinematographer's fault if a movie is bad. Very much depends on your criteria. If a film's shot badly, it can be just as much the cinematographer's fault as the director's.
Pan-dub
It can be a weak link but might not spoil a film. Just as a poor score might be a notable issue a great soundtrack can contribute towards improving a film.
KnightWing
I'd think that if a cinematographer is actually horrible, it's the job of the director and/or producers to replace him.
Stavros
Or just yell at him in a bizarre blend of accents.
Kenny Evil
In the case of the cinematographer on Cool as Ice, he did great work but he was just putting a pretty frame around a huge turd.
dc20willsave
The point stands that just because you did one piece of shit doesn't mean that all you do. Hell, Kathryn Bigelow directed Point Break. You can start low and work your way to glory, you can do a bad movie and still be good. The opposite is also true but still, just because a guy wrote a shitty episode of a Saturday Morning Cartoon show doesn't mean that the guy can't do good work. Gareth
Except I wasn't saying that at all. If anything I was proving your point, I said that John Ridley, the writer of Toys in the Hood, also wrote the screenplay for the critically acclaimed 12 Years a Slave. He wrote one hella shitty Static Shock episode and now he's written what will probably become an Academy Award winning screenplay.
Molly
Point Break is fucking awesome, and I'll fight anyone that disagrees.

Dread
I just pictured Preston and I shirtless and covered in blood amidst a sea of corpses of the non-believers. It was pretty homoerotic.
