Kscriv
I loved Space Jam and would be fully on board with another one for the new generation. That said the latest report is that LBJ has nothing to do with this.
KnightWing
I kinda liked Space Jam a lot, too.

JasonC
Michael Bay is producing a remake of The Birds. Have I stepped into an alternate universe?
slothian
Michael Bay is producing a remake of The Birds. As in Hitchcock's The Birds?!? As in Michael Bay remaking/producing a film by Alfred Hitchcock? The same Michael Bay whom the Tirades slammed for not having any pride in his work, as one would see in the films of ALFRED FUCKING HITCHCOCK?!?!? I don't give myself over to hyperbole often, but this epitomises everything that is wrong with the American film industry at present. Dread
To be fair, The Birds is a middling effort by Hitchcock and I'd rather see it than any other of his films get remade.
Stavros
What if the birds were aliens?
Koete
To be fair, The Birds is a middling effort by Hitchcock and I'd rather see it than any other of his films get remade. Tippi Hedren is awful in it, but I think it has some incredible sequences.

But is that not the equivalent of saying "if you must amputate one of my toes, I'm glad it's the little toe of my left foot you're going for"? I'd still rather have all of my toes. dc20willsave
The thing is, how can Bay outdo Birdemic which is practically a Bay-Esque remake of the film already?

Gareth
So it's official, Static Shock's Toyz in the Hood was written by an academy award winning winning writer.... Also gotta say, not one surprise all night.
dc20willsave
Yeah, this year was pretty spot on as far as predictions go. Gravity won a ton and I thought it would get Picture up until the end but there you go. As for Toys in the Hood, ehh, the guy who wrote Batman and Robin won an Oscar... okay, it was for A Beautiful Mind, bad example.
JackFetch
I was never an Annie fan, but was anyone clamoring for a modern version? http://youtu.be/O-lw0Jtmzn8
dc20willsave
It has some charismatic leads. It will either excel or it will crash and burn. I can't see there being an in between on this. The thing is, certain things about the story lend themselves better to being in a Great Depression world rather than post-9/11. Adding in that Jay-Z is doing songs in there as well and I can see nothing other than outcries from some.
JackFetch
How terrible is Cameron Diaz in this trailer though?
dc20willsave
After watching this week's episode of How I Met Your Mother, I'm deviating from the popular "the Mother is dead when Ted tells the story" theory to to the slightly different "Ted is dead and the kids are watching a recording he left for them" theory. dc20willsave
The fourth season of American Horror Story's theme is "Carnival." I don't know what I'm anticipating more: A remake of Freaks or Clowns.
dc20willsave
I will say, I really like the look of the animation so yeah, I'm a little less apprehensive. That said, it's a trailer for a movie that's a year away. A little hard to be excited for that.
Missy
Yeah, I dig that animation style.
Gareth
If they're going to adhere that closely to the original hand-drawn style, I'd prefer if they just used hand-drawn animation. All this does is suck out all the charm of the original style.
