With the blu-ray release of Star Trek: TNG, there's been lots of talk about Deep Space Nine and Voyager in HD, specifically the problems with the visual effects. All of the visual effects from TNG forward (minus some practical model footage) were done in standard definition on video, so upgrading to HD is a no-go unless you want to completely remake all the effects (which they've done with TNG). However, since DS9 and Voyager have gigantic battle scenes with dozens of ships in combat, there's been a real question as to whether or not doing those shows in HD is feasible whatsoever.

Well, as it turns out, the original digital elements (which still exist) are able to be re-rendered in HD incredibly easily. As an example, someone took either those original assets or ones similar and re-composited this shot from DS9. Keep in mind this was originally made for TV in 1998.

Awesome. I was really impressed with the HD TNG sets but I wasn't going to buy them beyond a sample DVD. DS9 however is hugely tempting.

They didn't exactly stand behind Chevy either is the thing. Between Chevy and Harmon, Harmon was far more important.

Harmon is known for being hard to work with because he needs things to be his way (hence why Community's "feel" was so specific in Seasons 1-3). If anything, he likely came into conflict with the higher-ups at Sony.
