Donomark
Wait, why the 20s? What relevance does that decade have with WW?
dc20willsave
Women's Suffrage. Not just that but the 20s are a cool era. Prohibition, Jazz, gangsters. Not only that but it's an era that had just gotten over the worst war in it's history to that point. If they have Aries as the villain, it's the perfect time to strike. Delete
She's a great tv director. We'll see how that translate.

Koete
Jason Fuchs, co-writer of Ice Age: Continental Drift and writer of the upcoming Pan, is in negotiations to write the screenplay. Dude must have had a dynamite pitch.

dc20willsave
Michelle MacLaren has left over creative difference.

dc20willsave
And almost right away, they snatched up Patty Jenkins to direct. I find it funny since she was slated for Thor 2 and then left over "creative differences."

JackFetch
And almost right away, they snatched up Patty Jenkins to direct. I find it funny since she was slated for Thor 2 and then left over "creative differences." Wasn't she the one that Natalie Portman was so pissed that she was gone and openly said she would leave also if she wasn't under contract?
dc20willsave
Yep. Portman had lobbied pretty hardcore for her as director. There were multiple stories coming out of that, mainly that She had a clear idea of what she wanted for the film that ran in contrast to what Marvel wanted. Others say she was irritated by the restraints Marvel put on her. Regardless, the woman knows how to get good performances out of her actors and, considering how big a mess Thor 2 ended up being, I feel like this is her chance to show Marvel what they missed out. Venneh
I'm surprised that they went for her given the creative differences thing on Thor 2 (and given that that's why Maclaren left). I'm going to assume that they asked her her vision for this, and it aligned with theirs. Either way, interested to see what happens now. Venneh
All speculation, but interesting if true, re: MacLaren.
Donomark
If that's all true, IF it's true, then it's good that she was replaced. I really don't want to see Wonder Woman be all about Xena action and be-headings and that crap. I'm so sick and tired of that version of Diana, I'd much rather want to see the Uber-Feminist of the Golden Age (although I know that's impossible). It's way more interesting and makes her more distinctive.
dc20willsave
Agreed. I've always been of the opinion that Diana was at her best during Greg Rucka's run where she was primarily an ambassador of peace. Of course, I also loved Azzarello's recent run so I like a complicated Diana.
