KnightWing
Hey guys. I'm working on a new project. I'm looking for songs to build music playlists for major comic book hero characters. Can be any and all types of music; the more suggestions the better. The only thing I'm avoiding at this point are the actual themes for the characters (no "Superman Main title" for Superman, no "Spider-Man 2 Suite" for Spider-Man, etc.) These are the main heroes I'm looking for, but any and all suggestions for any heroes (or group of heroes) are welcome. DC: Superman: "Superman (It's Not Easy)" - Five For Fighting "Back Up" - 12 Stones "Hero" - Skillet Batman: "Circle" - Slipknot "Mad World" - Gary Jules "Clubbed to Death" - Rob Dougan "Wasteland" - 10 Years "This Could Be Anywhere in the World" - Alexisonfire "Static X" - Night Terrors "So Cold" - Breaking Benjamin Wonder Woman: "24" - Jem "Tight Rope" - Lacuna Coil "Deliver Me" - Sarah Brightman Green Lantern (Hal Jordan): "Danger Zone" - Kenny Loggins "Requiem for a Tower" - Various "Rebel Yell" - Children of Bodom "Bullet Proof Skin" - Institute "There and Back Again" - Daughtry Nightwing: "Downfall" - Trust Company "Step to Me" - Thousand Foot Krutch Catwoman: "Drop the Other" - Emika "I Feel Perfect" - Porcelain and the Tramps Zatanna: The Justice League: "Phenomenon" - Thousand Foot Krutch The Teen Titans/Young Justice: "From Heads Unworthy" - Rise Against Marvel: Captain America (Steve Rogers): Spider-Man: "Same Direction" - Hoobastank The X-Men: (Wolverine) "On and On" - Kirby Krackle Iron Fist: Thor: "Bleed" - Angel Dust "Welcome Home" - Coheed and Cambria "Sky" - Ra Iron Man: Daredevil: Ghost Rider: "Ghost Rider" - Rollins Band The Punisher: "The Outlaw Torn" - Metallica Daken: "A Box Full of Sharp Objects" - The Used The Avengers: "The Final Countdown" - Europe What say ye? Guest
I've done something to this effect for years with my own superhero story. I'd make CDs full of songs to fit the mood of a particular character. Lots of fun. Editing Extra Lives right now, but give me a few hours and I should have a bunch for each. KnightWing
I've done something to this effect for years with my own superhero story. I'd make CDs full of songs to fit the mood of a particular character. Lots of fun. That's exactly what I'm doing, actually. I'm looking for music to go along with the characters, whether I'm writing or reading about them. I know a lot of others that are looking for the same thing, too. I've got a couple off the top of my head: (for Superman) "Superman" - Five For Fighting It's almost cheating, and slightly too on-the-nose, but... it does fit. (for Hal Jordan) Danger Zone - Kenny Loggins I mean, come on. That's just... that almost goes without saying.
Doug
No One Like's Superman Anymore for Supes But seriously, Can you expand a little on the directions? Songs that describe the character? Or make you think of him, or.... ?
Missy
"Dating Batman" by Cars Can Be Blue "Comic Books and Flashlights" by Kara McGraw (It's sort of a Spider-Man song.) "Ghostrider" by Rollins Band
KnightWing
Songs that evoke the feeling of that character. Like... what their brain might sound like. I do love "No One Likes Superman Anymore", but that's a little too pop rock for him. Nice one, though. Any and all I Fight Dragons references are awesome. EDIT: Ahhh, screw it. That song actually does work. The lyrics are great, even if the style is a little off. EDIT2: Dating Batman is hilarious.

KnightWing
Three EPs, actually, though only one is "officially released."
Dread
Buy the two Kirby Krackle albums. "Ring Capacity" is all about Green Lantern's day to day life and "On and On" is what it's like to be Wolverine.
KnightWing
Hmm. Okay, these are all great, but I think I'm looking more for songs that fit tonally. Like, what songs might these characters have on their iPods? Or what would fit on a soundtrack for one of their stories?
