SuaveStar
Apparently under Hickman, it's been really good. Didn't he finish up around issue 12?
KnightWing
Not sure; I haven't been keeping up with most of Marvel lately, and I fell behind on my Ultimates reading.
Koete
Yes, Sam Humphries is writing it now.
dc20willsave
This is the variant cover to Young Avengers Vol. 2 #1. Marvel, make this a poster and take my money!
Molly
Dan Slott accidentally spoiled the identity of Superior Spider-Man on Twitter: (via Bleeding Cool) Miguel O'Hara. Spidey 2099. Too bad he's not keeping his costume. I'll admit it. I'm intrigued enough to buy it.
Missy
Yup. Getting my money.

Stavros
On Superior Spider-man- Can't wait for it to be on Fox News how there's another Mexican Spider-man.
Missy
That was my second thought, Tom, right after "FUCK YEAH!"
Stavros
I do wonder how they're going to reconcile this with existing continuity. I think Claremont wrote the last thing with him?
Stratofarius
Wait, what is this Young Avengers thing? Yes. I'm a newbie to these kind of things.
dc20willsave
Young Avengers was a book written Allan Heinberg with art by Jimmy Cheung. It was notable for having a pretty good depiction of teenage superheroes. There were also some minis that popped up between the original volume one and the upcoming Volume 2 which is being written by Kieron Gillen. Most of them were good, two of them centered on team-ups with the Runaways. It also features Wiccan who is probably one of my favorite comic book characters created in the last ten years. Stavros
Also on the Superior Spider-man thing- IT'S STILL NOT BEN REILLY. The one Spider-man who I'd be interested in reading the return of, the CONSTANTLY hint at it and never deliver. There's been a hundred Scarlet Spider or mystery Spider-man teasers over the years, at this point it's just cruel.
SuaveStar
So, the rumour for the big reveal in ASM 698 is: Dr Octopus is dying, and his dying wish is to speak to Peter Parker. Peter goes as Spider-Man, and Doc Ock says "I am Peter Parker" this leads Spider-Man to unmask and say "No, I am Peter Parker now." revealing Doc Ock to have somehow change minds with Peter. Peter now in Doc Ock's body then flatlines and dies. That's just a rumour, but interesting if true.
Missy
He flatlines, but we don't know if he dies. Medics run in to resuscitate him, and that's part of the cliffhanger.
prez
That is fucking ridiculous. Man, I'm glad I gave up on Spider-Man a long time ago.
Missy
The storyline is called Dying Wish, so I think Peter will somehow trick Ock back into his own body with some sort of last wish. Or, what's left of Peter's soul / mind / whatever will push Ock out of his body.
Stavros
Hope this leads to some comedy re him trying to marry his own aunt.
SuaveStar
Hope this leads to some comedy re him trying to marry his own aunt. in issue 698, Peter supposedly relives the moment where Aunt May, and Doc Ock, get down to business just before their wedding. Also, I think Dan Slott may be one of the best mainstream comic creators on twitter, he seems to get a real kick out of all the threats and hateful tweets that he gets sent on the site, and making fun of them. For example: DanSlott "You'd think they couldn't desecrate the character more. You'd be wrong. There is no rock bottom for Spider-Man." - Oh, Internet how I <3 U! 05/12/2012 13:
prez
http://www.newsarama.com/comics/shocking-superhero-hookups-110921.html Whatever, Dan Slott, but Spider-Man has been the most ruined character in Marvel for a long while. God, when I bought Spidey religiously in the early 90s, I never thought the character could ever be messed up. Way to prove me wrong, Marvel! prez
Actually, that IS when I stopped buying it. But I always assumed that was the bottom of the barrel. Who knew the barrel was so fucking big?
JasonC
I haven't read an Avengers or an X-Men title in years but Uncanny Avengers #1 made me want to start..
prez
See, in a similar way, Uncanny Avengers #2 made me want to stop. I'm tired of seeing beloved characters abused for shock value.
