Still playing Kingdom Hearts II. Almost done with completing Jiminy's goddamn Journal. And then I can go onto what is going to be a crazy easy final boss fight and see that secret ending stuffs.

It's almost easier to play the game in brave mode than to complete Jiminy's journal. You have to take a few extra minutes to level up but you barely notice as long as you're a level above the curve.

Working through Guitar Hero: World Tour, both solo and with the wife. It's like a poor man's Rock Band with some, er, interesting musical choices. The drum charts are pretty weak, especially in songs I was already familiar with on RB (Fleetwood Mac is, surprisingly, one of my favorite songs to drum along with in RB2 but it's awful in GHWT) but the guitar tracks are pretty much universally solid. I like some of the innovations Neversoft made here - open string notes on the bass and progressive chords on the guitar - but in general it just isn't as much fun to play as the competition and the song selection interface blows goats. Activating star power on the drums is terrible. I think I kill my combo every other time I try to do it.

In all, the $15 I dropped for this on the Amazon Marketplace is about all I'd have been OK with spending on it.

Red Faction: Guerrilla

This game is so much fun, it should be illegal. You can destroy ANYTHING. And the physics of the game are incredibly realistic, especially as relates to the sledgehammer.

One of the funniest things I've ever seen in a video game happened tonight while playing it for the first time. My buddy was shooting at a guy who was in the middle of the road, and the guy is firing back...and the dude gets run over by a truck from absolutely nowhere. We laughed for like 5 solid minutes. It was so random, but so fucking funny.

I played a bit of Red Faction: Guerrilla with some friends on the weekend. It’s impressive what they’ve managed to do with destructible environments. I’ll probably grab it myself once it goes down in price a bit.

As for me, I've just been playing a ton of Fallout 3. I'm probably around the halfway point at this stage. I'm moving at a glacial pace, but I'm fine with that.

I probably should finish Henry Hatsworth one of these days.

UFC Undisputed is GOOD. I spend about four hours last night learning and playing the game with my housemate, its just so tense when you have a really close fight with lots of back and forth, knockdowns and recoveries. I even got a KO with a spinning backfist and a flying knee. He's now specialising in BJJ Boxers whilst I'm more focused on the odd combo of Muai Thai Wrestlers, using lots a kicks and attacks from distance to set up my takedowns. Only downside is that my mate is a practiced button-basher and my success rate at escaping submissions was lowering drastically towards the end of the evening. I still have yet to have a fight go the distance. Even in a bout where I was trying my opponant submited due to strikes to the body.

Its great to have the Xbox back.

The first time I fought Hermes Franca it was a 3 round struggle which saw me submit to a kneebar about 20 seconds from the end. This time around my player had progressed so much that it was a three minute demolition where I beat his face to a bloody pulp and finished with a couple of nasty head kicks. This game gets better and better.

My only real beef with UFC is the shitty menu system. It takes forever to update your gear with new sponsors. Plus I really think that by the time I'm Lightweight champ with several defences under my belt I shouldn't still have half the sponsors to unlock.

Still playing through Beyond Good and Evil and man, what a great game. I love the art direction, especially in regards to the character design. It's simple and clean yet still manages to have a ton of clever little details. What really surprises me is how much I enjoy the stealth sections. I can't stand the MGS series, I absolutely suck at the Hitman games, and I've never had any interest in Splinter Cell, but I still found myself really enjoying creeping around the stages in Beyond Good and Evil.

The worst thing is that I can tell it's a fairly short game, and I'm enjoying it so much I that I dread reaching the end.

As someone that played the original to death, I'm really enjoying it so far. Just remembering how archaic the first game looked and felt, you really get a sense that this is the game they would have made back then if they had the technology.

I also really like the added commentary and the fact that they transformed Lara's Manor into it's own sort of mini adventure game. I spent a good hour running around that.
