  1. well...i thought that was an excellent episode. Just my sort of ep, and thoroughly enjoyed it, and of course the intriguing question it posed is, who is the Dreamlord?
  2. Thanks for the warning. Might have to prep for the viewing with gin. lol...well, i should emphasise that i'm not a fan of Pertwee, or much of his era, but even so, they're two 6 part episodes that aren't the most fondly thought of eps. Still, you enjoyed the Dominators, so you might enjoy these too (And Time Monster at least has Delgado being wonderful so it's not totally without merit) :-D
  3. good episode again. :-) I'm really not a fan of Pertwee or his era, but these 2 stories are pretty entertaining. Aside from the music of the Sea Devils, it's a very entertaining tale. Curse of Peladon works well (i'm afraid Monster of Peladon is a stinker). The music of Sea Devils is just awful though. next week is 2 dreadful stories as far as I'm concerned though...good luck getting through them sober :-)
  4. clearing my cache (Chrome on Windows 7) seems to have worked for me.
  5. that seems to have worked for me. I've reloaded the page a few times and it hasn't popped up again. :-)
  6. I'm also getting a warning on my virus checker (AVG) when I access the site (presumably from one of the ads). It says File Name: lunchscone.ru:8080/google.com/dailymotion.com/pixmania.com.php Threat name: Exploit Link to known exploit site (type 750) edit...was typing this as Mike posted above :-)
  7. ok...more thoughts about that scene I was talking about in the previous post. I can't take credit for all this, some people are discussing this on Gallifrey Base. Some screencaps under the cut too.
  8. I presumed that seeing as we saw Angel Bob as a full angel, it's simply a case of reproducing..taking over the bodies. But just rewatched it...and here's an interesting thing (i'll put it under the cut).
  9. Some intriguing moments, particularly all the stuff with the crack unlike suavestar though, I thought next weeks looks quite entertaining.
  10. much better than last week. Not much i'll really say...as the first part of a 2 parter it'll be better to judge after next week, but it was nicely claustrophobic and creepy. speaking of next week...thoughts about the next time trailer under the spoiler cut
  11. good news http://www.thefutoncritic.com/news/2010/04/19/doctor-who-premiere-bbc-americas-highest-rated-telecast-ever/20100419bbca02/
  12. another good episode. The Daemons is beloved by everyone who worked on it and is regarded as a Classic. I'm not so fond of it, but it is entertaining, and well made. Regarding the Brigadier in bed, there was a plan to have a woman answer the phone and pass it to him, but they decided not to. Also like the use of a James Bond clip (the helicopter exploding is from "From Russia With Love" As I said last week, I have enormous fondness for Day of the Daleks, because it was one of the first DW videos I got in the late 80's, and was one of 4 stories i had for a few years and rewatched endlessly. I rewatched it recently for the first time in ages, and loved it all over again. It's a tremendously smart episode, with everything neatly fitting (aside from the Doctor and Jo meeting themselves at the beginning...there was supposed to be a second scene at the end where they are the ones from the future meeting themselves, but it was cut). Yes, i suppose the Dalek's don't do much (they were a last minute addition), and the direction (plus the decision to paint one of them yellow) does nothing to stop us seeing that they only had 3 of them, and I agree the voices aren't the best (it's mainly the speed of delivery that's the problem..for their next appearance they get back one of the actors who did the voices in the Troughton era and it's a great improvement). But I just don't care, and actually, it's fun to see the Daleks as the all powerful conquerors again...and in a way, I wish that they'd just embraced the situation of only having 3 casings, and referenced the fact that this small squad of Daleks was all that was needed to subjugate this area of the Earth. Also, you mentioned Pertwee's obsession with different vehicles...it only gets worse and more extreme from here on in, and reaches a ludicrous peak in his last story. I really like Jo, and find she works well with the 3rd Doctor. Hope she grows on you. Mixed bag of eps for the next story. I'm looking forward to your comments on the incidental music of the Sea Devils, and i'm one of the few fans who doesn't like the Curse of Peladon.
  13. some exciting news about the Sarah Jane Adventures under the spoiler cut and at the link (spoilers obv) http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/pressreleases/stories/2010/04_april/19/sj_adventures.shtml and my first thought
  14. hmmm...thought that was a real mixed bag.
  15. a scan from another magazine...the midsections look better from this angle
  16. The Radio Times covers are out and show a new design of Dalek on the cover. Teh website has the 3 covers, with different coloured Daleks relating to the colours of the 3 main political parties. And 3 more pictures showing more Daleks, including another colour. Apparantly all these coloured Daleks do appear. Not sure about the new design though (particularly the bulky middle section). 2 pictures under the spoiler cut of each post
  17. haven't seen this discussed yet, but here's the press release for some DW downloadable games to be released in a couple of months http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/pressreleases/stories/2010/04_april/08/doctor_who.shtml and pics here http://blogtorwho.blogspot.com/2010/04/doctor-who-adventure-games.html
  18. well..i really enjoyed that. Some good performances, and the smilers were suitably creepy. And of course the teaser for next episode....looks so good (and a chance to hear that line of dialogue that leaked out over a year ago as an audio clip, in context..although it's obvious they used an alternate take).
  19. and for those who are in love with Karen Gillen, here's an interview with her http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HRWslKmUR0I its really irritating not being able to embed more than 2 vids in each post lol
  20. here's 4 youtube vids..1 of Steven Moffatt introducing some clips from The Beast Below, and the 3 clips themselves...some interesting stuff. It looks really creepy, and I can't wait. One observation http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V60XMA4YzkE 2 to follow in next post
  21. another good episode. Sadly I think both these storys are dreadful, with barely anything in either of them to recommend them (Delgado aside). Thankfully it's 2 better episodes for the next podcast....Daemons is well liked, although i dont' think it's the classic others do, and i'm incredibly fond of Day of the Daleks despite the faults (the Dalek voices!!!) because it was one of the first stories I got on VHS back in the late 80's....I think it was Xmas 88 and I got 2 stories (Spearhead, and the Robots of Death), and then my birthday in January I got 2 more (Day of the Daleks and Talons of Weng Chiang)...They were the only Doctor Who I had to watch for a couple of years, and I rewatched them endlessly. Sad we won't hear your thoughts about the new series....I understand the reasoning and I know we can read your reactions on the forum, but I'd kind of like to hear a nice long discussion about them between you. Don't want to wait till 2015 or whenever LOL.
  22. a little youtube video someone has made demonstrating the....erotic nature of parts of the Doctors TARDIS. Made me laugh
