These are just some of the great anime that failed to garner a vote on the ballots of Animezing Podcast's Top 11 Anime of the Decade. (If you'd like to skip past "The End of Time" conversation, it takes place between 1:36 and 36:17.) Episode 123

How awesome would it be if Dread Media rang in the New Year with any of the following: naked space vampire babes, a man French kissing Patrick Stewart while he has a seizure, homicidal Christmas trees, or Eighties glam rock stars playing with children's toys? How about ringing the New Year in with all of them? Oh yeah! This week, Desmond and Darryll sit down to review the Tobe Hooper-directed, Dan O'Bannon-scripted masterpiece Lifeforce, then the duo talks about Jason Eisener's short film "Treevenge," and Desmond embarks on a new segment that is sure to kill him where he stands when he discusses Phil Lewis' (L.A. Guns) first film role in Witchmaster General. [ 1:07:01 || 30.8 MB ] The above is from: http://www.earth-2.net/podcasts/dreadmedia/episodes/dreadmedia_123.mp3
  10. Few names are synonymous with modern comic books, but one of those very few is Brian Michael Bendis -- the man who's helped reshape Marvel. From his radical take on Spider-Man, Daredevil, and the Avengers, Bendis has firmly cemented himself as Marvel's go-to guy when it comes to superheroes. But what about his noir-laced crime fiction? In an effort to better understand his roots, Dan and Mike examine the first volumes of Jinx, Sam and Twitch, and Alias. 11. If you find yourself on the other end of the law, the last man you want on your tail is Jonah Hex -- the ugliest, meanest, hardest man in the West. Art: Billy Tucci The above is from: http://www.earth-2.net/wallpaper/full/Jonah_Hex_001.jpg
  12. There's something in art known as the Infinite Monkey Theorem. The basic idea is that if you put a monkey in front of a typewriter, hitting random keys for an unlimited amount of time, he will eventually produce a work of Shakespeare. By this same logic, if you put THQ and Yuke's together with the intention of making a pro wrestling game, at least a few good efforts should result from their attempts. For all the problems I've had with the series in the past, it's only fair that I acknowledge Smackdown vs. Raw 2010 as one of the good ones. 13. Des and Mike round out 2009 by discussing DC Comics' forthcoming graphic novel line. Not only do they examine the price point and format, but they also toss out a few ideas they'd love to see DC run with. 15. In this jam-packed episode, Dan and Mike bid farewell to Patrick Troughton, Frazer Hines, and Wendy Padbury. They discuss the mixed bag that was the sixth season, and take one last look at the black and white era of Doctor Who. Some Doctor Who firsts are also covered, including a kiss, the appearance of the Time Lords, and the disputed debut of someone who might just become a recurring foe. And on top of that, the duo manages to squeeze in talk of "The War Games," which is easily the most epic serial thus far. 17. It's not often that I'll actively follow the development of a game leading up to its release, but Brutal Legend was a little different. For one, the concept sounded crazy: a heavy metal-themed, open-world adventure game with real-time strategy battles as the big set pieces. It sounded like nothing I'd ever played before, and that made me curious. It certainly helped to hear that it was being developed by Double Fine, whose previous game, Psychonauts, I very much enjoyed. The only thing that I really questioned was the involvement of Jack Black, who voiced the main character Eddie Riggs and provided the basis for his design. It's not like I actively dislike Black, it's just that he tends to play a very specific character type: the loud, overconfident, and bumbling hero who is incapable of doing anything right until the final act. And it's a character I've been tired of for a while. The above is from: http://www.earth-2.net/reviews/v/brutal-legend
