First thing I thought was WWE LittleBigPlanet. Anybody else think that?
-
Seriously, that just looks... amazing.
-
I'd be very interested to hear about the extras on disks I don't have yet. I've seen all the stories so the bonus features are a big factor in which ones I get.
Got anything specific in mind?
I'm picking up the newest boxset release, The Black Guardian Trilogy, during the week so I might do that but if you want me to post a review on anything from my collection then let me know and I'll see what I can do.
-
Was up late watching Warriors of the Deep again, the only place you can see a woman drop-kick a pantomime horse.
Oh dear, don't tell Suavestar about that. He'll want to watch it now.
As for DVD updates, here's what I've bought since I started posting this...
William Hartnell/Patrick Troughton
Lost In Time (3 disc set featuring episodes for which complete stories are missing)
Patrick Troughton
The Mind Robber
The Seeds Of Death
The War Games
Jon Pertwee:
Carnival Of Monsters
The Time Warrior
Tom Baker:
The Ark In Space
The Hand Of Fear
The Deadly Assasin
Horror Of Fang Rock
Image Of The Fendhal
The E-Space Trilogy boxset
Peter Davison:

Attack Of The Cybermen
Sylvester McCoy:
Rememberance Of The Daleks (Special Edition)
The Curse Of Fenric
David Tennant:

Also, just wondering... would anyone object if I was to post some DVD reviews of the releases as they come out?
-
Why not pick 2 or 3 titles that are key and get them in comic form and pick up the rest as trades as/when you want/need to?
(And... too much free time, yes.)
-
Nice review, sir.
I picked up volumes 1 and 2 a few weeks ago and read both of them in an hour while in a state of flux. By the time I'd finished reading them I was desperately seeking more, so the next day I rushed out and picked up volumes 3 to 5. The artwork and humour in it really do help it stand out as a great little series to pick up.

It's annoying how they make the mole character so obvious every year. Other than that, this season so far's been great.
wonder if they'll bring Jon Voight back in to tie in with the Redemption storyline that preceeded the season? He's due back for the 2 episode mid-season on March 2nd, I hear.

Thanks everyone for the birthday messages, even though I hardly get a chance to post (the joys of being internet-less at home!).
As for you, SUAVEY...
(Sorry everyone else who won't have a scooby what we're on about!)
-
It was only a matter of time, and to be honest, I'm surprised it has taken so long to confirm. I am interested in it but I don't think I'll be going out of my way to see it after the last film.
-
I want this now! Probably need a new PC for it to work but I want!
-
Give me until the 7th to get my student loan in for this month and I'll pass on a few quid.

From BBC:
Written by Russell T Davies, Dark Season centres around a normal English school, but all is not what it seems...
For the machinations of the mysterious Mr Eldritch are at work. A shades-wearing, bleached-blonde millionaire, he arrives at the school claiming to be its benefactor; donating computers to every student.
Investigating Eldritch is the ever-inquisitive, wise beyond her years third former Marcie, who with her fifth form friends, Reet and Thom, uncovers a plot to that doesn't just threaten the pupils of the school, but the whole human race!
With Eldritch exposed, it is hoped that things will return to normal, but Marcie, Tom and Reet arrive back at the school to find a team of blonde archaeologists digging up the playing field. But since when, as Marcie points out, have archaeologists used mechanical diggers?
It soon becomes apparent that Miss Pendragon doesn't want to uncover the past, she wants to reawaken it by summoning up the fearsome Behemoth...
Aired in November 1991 on Childrens BBC and achieving raitings peaking 4 million at one point, it was only 6 episodes long.
Anyone?

Isn't Baker only in the Five Doctors for about 2 minutes?
Yeah, using footage from an abandoned story if my head serves me right.
-
Two DVDs Mike burned the Internet Fairy sent me.
Ah the internet fairy, she looks after us all now and again!
The Ark in SpaceWould you recommend it? I've been looking around for it lately, and since RTD has previously said he used it as a primary source for how he layed out the new series, it could be interesting.
-
Alright it's in the Bigger On The Inside section.
-

Those new figures look terribly childish... which is probably the point as they're aimed at the kids.
I like the cyberman one. The red dalek as well.Trust you, suavestar! It is red...
BTW, is there a thread for people's Doctor Who DVD collections?
-
I'd maybe also add Turn Left into the Season 4 episodes to watch. While it was in many eyes just a filler episode it did help to get the basis for the finale in order (reintroducing Captain Jack, Sarah Jane, Torchwood, etc...).
-
Now there's an idea for the Earth-2 family. Much like WFP and Watchercast, an episode by episode recap of the Doctor Who series starting with the classics. William Hartnell. I'd love my own podcast, but being able to find all these classic shows would be a B*tch.
Funnily enough, I've started doing something like this with Suavestar, only I'm doing the recent series first since the series 4 boxset it out next week. Then I was gonna go to the classic series and do like a different story every two/three weeks or so.
-
Ooh I'm looking forward to that!
And here's me been working on boxset reviews of the recent stuff with Suavestar this week too!
-
I really hope it's better... I tried watching The Beast With A Billion Backs the other night and turned it off 20 minutes in.
I want a full season order of Everybody Loves Hypnotoad!
-
Depending on how far the Batman films would be able to run, I'd wait until the fourth film and introduce him as a side character that by the fifth film would have evolves into the Robin character everyone expects. One of the problems I had with The Dark Knight was the way Harvey Dent/Two Face was done. The backstory was excellent but after the 'transformation' it felt quite rushed, and I wouldn't want to see Robin go the same way.

Alright, so I've been pre-occupied the past few days and haven't finished the extras for The E-Space Trilogy. Shall watch them over the next couple of days and have a review posted by the end of the week at the latest.
