And second: What makes a good anime adaptation in live-action? Ghost in the Shell may come the closest, but it still misses the mark in terms of translating the philosophical soul of the original series. Donovan and Harry sit down to discuss the controversial film, going through the number of ways the script works against not only the spirit of the franchise but its own plot, the meticulous recreation of scenes from the 1995 film, and how translations from other media loses the source material.
