  1. Have you read Planetary yet?

I read up to 12 or 13 (?) and then there was that loooooong break between issues. So I can't even remember what was going on, I just know that it was good.

Oh, and trust me when I say the ending to Transmet is the best.

  2. This is so stolen from the G4 TV show Judgment Day, and I don't care!

If you've never seen the show, these two guys (Vic and Tommy) review video games and rate them from 0-10. The show is broken into six segments, one of which is called "Buried Treasures" -- where one of the hosts briefly covers a great game that has been overlooked by the general public.

Having said that, name your buried treasure (mention which system) and tell us why we need to play this game.

I'll start us off with Ico for the PlayStation 2.

With my devotion to action-puzzle games such as Zelda and Prince of Persia, it should come as no surprise that I love Ico. Even if you're not an action-puzzle type of person, you'll still enjoy this game for its rich environments, wonderfully composed music, and gripping story -- which is told with hardly a lick of dialog, none of which is in English. But never mind that, because Ico is like an opera -- the characters' actions translate the language barrier for you. Most of all, the ending is beautifully tragic (tragically beautiful?), especially if you sit through the end credits and read into the final scene. I'm getting goosebumps just thinking about it.

If you have an extra $20, buy this game. And if you do, don't skip a single cutscene.

  3. Did you read the entire series? I laughed my ass off at the end when Spider... well, I won't spoil it... but when he did what he did and he said what he said... I laughed and laughed and laughed. Great ending to an awesome book.

  4. I'd make this a poll, but then you'd be subjected to my Top Ten stories of all time, and that's not fair. So, with that said, name your favorite story arc or single issue. (Mind you, this isn't your overall favorite comic book series of all time. This is the one story that rocked your world; the one you think everyone must read.) Give us a quick synopsis of the issue(s) as well as the issue(s)/comic(s) it ran through. But most importantly, tell us what makes it the best story ever.

  5. Due to Daredevil's radar senses Batman could never hide from him -- ever. There's no surprising him! To add to that, DD can dodge weapons thrown by Bullseye, so there's no way in Hell Batman would ever be able to whack him with a Batarang. So it fits to reason that if DD can dodge projectiles, then he can outmaneuver Batman as well -- if he can sense objects, then fists are no problem, especially at the range a punch must be thrown. Batman's the better fighter, certainly, but I have to give this one to DD and his radar senses.

Place: Gotham City or New York

    Conditions: Normal

  6. But DD being blind, could know a whole lot more than Batman, all senses in tact.

But then Batman, by his very nature, shows up where you least expect him. He's stealthier than most, which always works in his advantage

How the Hell do you hide from a guy who can sense your heartbeat?! Wait! I said no arguing. Damn my own rules! Damn them to Hell! :grumble:

Screw it: I'm making a Batman v Daredevil thread.

  7. Oh ye of little faith! Name me a bad Zelda game.....

    Here's two:

    Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon

    Zelda's Adventure

For the first (and only) time Nintendo allowed a third-party to develop a Zelda game. These two were for the failed CD-i, and were utter shit! They're so bad that Nintendo has disavowed all knowledge of them, and they consequently do not fit into the rather complex Zelda timeline.

I've never actually played them myself, but I've seen them. Gameplay is similar to the often condemned Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, and the fully-animated cutscenes were cluttered with bad acting and worse dialog. Is it any wonder that Nintendo snubs this bastard child when Philips Media (publisher) and Animation Magic (developer) made Link into a quasi-stoner?

  8. I love the recent ports! SMA4:SMB3 is perfect in every respect, and, from what I hear, so is The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.

Developers should keep on making new games, but ports are great for older gamers who want to take classics on the road.

  9. I'm the only one with a Turbo Grafx 16?

TG16 owned! Bonk was the best, and there was some ninja game on there... what was that called?

My step-brother bought one that "fell off of a truck" for $100 with games, and I was so jealous because my mom wouldn't let me buy one from his "friend" who "found" these machines.
