  1. The hint markers and challenge markers get gold rings around them, which is something at least.

I'm more pissed with the hideout and buoy tokens. I've lost count of how many times I've walked into the same damn building for no result.

  2. I was considering getting Spiderman 2 , but I have two questions, one is it worth getting and two should I get it on PS2 or PC?

The PC version is heavily stripped back, and not a patch on the console versions.

Awesome game, but ludicrously difficult in places, and with 2-300 tokens to collect in order to get the 100%, they should get marked on the map as you go.

  3. I have it, the min ram you will need is 384mb.

Aye, and it's the last bloody time I fight above my weight class.

    Ah! Zombie! *click* *click* *click*

    ..... ... .... ..

    Bang Bang Bang!

Of course, by that time the goddamn monster has moved towards me and is eating my face. Grrr.

  4. Has...anyoneplayed...it...yet...?

    Irentedit...but...Idon'tthinkmy...sys...tem...isup...toscratch. It's...veryjer...ky. Don't...ev...engetme...stratedo...nframera...tes.

Seriously, I went to the kitchen and made a frigging sandwhich in between levels.

It's frustrating because it'd be a really fucking awesome game if I had a system that could run it.

  5. Just discovered this comic yesterday. Read pretty much every strip since...haven't had a lot else to do except essays <_<

But anyways, it's a really funny comic. Often hilarious, usually pretty disgusting, never ever ever suitable for young minds.

    Anyone else read it?

  6. I think I see what you're getting at, and it's fair enough.  But I think Anakin's there to represent Luke's triumph.  After all, Luke broke though and reached his father, and Vader redeemed himself as a result.

Then why not throw in Qui-Gon, too?

Because Luke met Anakin when he pulled the mask off, but he never met Qui-Gon. Ever. These are the three Jedi who meant the most to Luke: his father, his mentor, and his master/trainer.

    Exactly

  7. Apparently Valve/Sierra/whoever will have a big movie theatre-type thing showing constant clips of Half-Life 2. That would be wicked.

Have you seen the video of it yet DJ? Hot DANG.

I also found a video showcasing the Unreal 3 engine. Never in my life with I be in possession of a computer capable of runniong it, but it's fucking amazing...like, photorealistic, nearly.

  8. The graphics need to be good enough to make you believe you're a part of the game. Graphics create immersion, and gameplay also contributes to this.

Take my favourite game ever, Interstate 76. While the car models were good, the rest of the graphics pretty bad. Fortunately, the sound, packaging, menus and cutscenes were SO GOOD that it didn't matter to me.

  9. 1) Half-Life. Of every FPS I've ever played, Half Life has made me feel more like I was inside the game world than any other. There was always something going on, whether it be scientists being dragged into air vents, or soldiers and aliens blowing the crap out of each other. Amazing atmosphere. Not even the dud final levels could ruin the experience.

    2) Duke Nukem 3D. The first FPS I ever owned. Terrific fun, and managed to keep an incredible sense of freedom...there were times when I really thought I could catch the train to my house. I was 13, and had an active imagination ;) And the theme song was catchy as hell.

    3) Jedi Knight II - Jedi Outcast. The high point of the series so far. Stunning graphics, challenging levels, and a friggin' lightsaber.

Honorable mentions: System Shock 2, Hexen 2
