Welcome to a special edition of the Tranquil Tirades. I am James, your ever-sardonic host. Of the five comics Des and Mike reviewed this week (Astonishing X-Men #23, Marvel Adventures Spider-Man #33, Ms. Marvel #21, Mystic Arcana: Sister Grimm and Silver Surfer: In Thy Name #1), they greatly disagreed on two. Whoa. Whoa. Whoa! If this review series is entitled Is It Wednesday Yet?, why are these reviews hitting the site on Thursday? Simply put, the two reviews you're going to read today had a press embargo placed on them. For the uninformed, a press embargo is when your source asks you to hold onto certain information (in this case, reviews) until a certain date. Due to the fact that the following two comics play major parts in Marvel's forthcoming landscape, one can understand their position: they didn't want spoilers to leak in the days before the books actually hit the shelves. What books did Tim and drq review this week? Annihilation: Conquest - Quasar #4 and X-Men: Messiah Complex.

As it pertains to the fall of Geneon USA, one of the biggest anime distributors in the world, two questions need to be asked. One: Does this mean that all Geneon DVDs are going to be pulled from store shelves? Two: Which company, if any, will grab the titles that are still in production?
