  1. That can't be a red herring any longer, given what was shown in the last episode.

Oh they will. They had the perfect ending with Robin admitting she can never be in love with Ted, and rather than leave it there, they just kept ramming that plot into the ground.

I think having the entire series over the span of a weekend is fucking stupid.

  2. Good episode, I feel like everyone else has covered everything else to do with this film, so I'll just reiterate my major complaint; they spend the last half hour putting the toys in order for Episode 4, and that's all I will remember this for, Lucas basically setting the toys up for everything to happen in Episode 4.

Some may consider it to be the best Star Wars film, and it is easily the best of the prequel trilogy, but to me, the first thing that always pops into my head whenever thinking of ROTS, is Lucas just getting everything together for A New Hope.

Also, did you mention Yoda meeting Chewbacca, that felt like serious fanboy pleasing crap to me,like "Hey, check it out! Everyone knows everyone else!"so yeah, there's my thoughts on the film.

  3. Big Brilliant Book of Bart Simpson: Fun, but the constant digs at comic fans being mindless sheep are getting to Mark Millar levels of grating. Also, Gail Simone was the writer of some of these issues, and she's try to bring in some stories from the show into the comics, except she's picking and choosing what she considers canon and what isn't, and so her stories just kind of suck.

Big Book of Bart Simpson: Take what I said about the last book, then add it's somehow better than that one.

Simpsons Comics: Strike Back: The stories that feel like they could be episodes are fun, the mini stories featuring the townsfolk in different eras are pretty awful. It's not that the writers don't try, it's just they try and shoehorn in the memory that these are Simpsons characters, outside of their comfort zones, that just kind of sucks.

  4. Based on the promise of a MOTYC, I just watched an episode of Main Event. I was not disappointed. Cesaro has such a different style from everyone else at the moment. It makes him stand out when given the time to do so. Being gifted with amazingly freakish strength doesn't hurt either.

Unrelated, I still hate the way Gabriel sells his 450. 'Oh, put my arm lightly over my gut because I hurt myself." A point for effort, but F- in execution.

I constantly expect Gabriel to really hurt someone with that 450, with the way he lands, he seems a slight mistep away from bashing someones head in with his knee.

  5. I think when Mace shoots the lightning back at The Emperor it's supposed to show his true form and age, as it's likely possible the emperor has lived for a long time, using the life saving technique his master taught him decades ago.

Also, I think Mike went to far into the death thing, by asking C3PO to get a big hero moment, I get that ou I think they should have just done something better than just say "Padme died of a broken heart" if it was implied that Vader choking her put her into rushed labour, through a shock to the system. Anythings better than just saying "She lost her love."

I think the main issue with the film is them realising how much they have to cram in, to lead up to episode 4, and how forced everything was, in that sense. That was the real main criticism from me, none of the set up stuff felt natural, and just rushed, like they finished most of the shooting of the film before anyone asked how the films will link up.

  6. Catwoman: The road home: Boring. It has a tie-in to Salvation Run, that's never really explained, and then Selina arrives back in Gotham, another story that's never explained, then Selina goes on about how crap her life's been, so she decides to just be a cat burglar again, and pretend everything is fine. Art was acceptable, but this just was really a filler end to the series as a whole.

  7. Spider-Man: Flying Blind: First half of this is bland, and the second half featuring Daredevil is better, but still not really that good.

Spider-Man: The Fantastic Spider-Man: Peter joins the Future Foundation, and I learn that stories that seem epic and fun can be bloody boring. If this is basically all the FF do, I'm kind of glad I haven't read many of their books. Also, Peter shows up to his first FF meeting wearing a homemade Fantastic Four outfit, which just seems in bad taste, seeing as one of his close friends, Johnny Storm just died, it just felt like a joke that fell extremely flat. This trade also features Peter's girlfriend possibly getting a Green Goblin tattoo when drunk. It feels like Marvel just put that in for attention, as it's a swerve, she reveals two issues later she got a Spider-Man tattoo instead.

Simpsons Comics: Dollars to Donuts: Was a fun quick read, it felt like some OK episodes of the show.

Simpsons Comics: Meltdown: Again fun, I was looking for some easy and fun stuff to read, and I found it in these Simpsons books. They didn't insult my intelligence, or tell a dull crossover story, it was just a fun book.

  8. If Anakin didn't kill Count Dooku, The Emperor would have likely strangled him, on the way to prison. It seemed like Vader is the only Jedi in the films to use the force to strangle people, so it's possible the emperor taught it to him.

Also, the theatre scene with the big "Join us" discussion, after hearing your thoughts, I would have thought it would have been awesome if the Saw theme played, as Anakin found out that Darth Sidious was behind saving him from every problem he's faced in the first two films, such as bribing Qui Gon to find Anakin and win him away from slavery, and fixing the race so Anakin would never lose. Anythings better than "Oh, you're my son. I left a lot of you around the galaxy hoping one would be a Jedi. "
