  1. I don't think you need it for Kingdom Come, either. A strong understanding of the chracters helps, but it's not totally needed. I mean, everyone knows Bats, Supes and Wonder Woman.

Marvels is easier though because Kingdom Come require knowledge of some lesser known characters like Sivanna, The grown up Titans, Spectre, etc. Marvels is a little more tailored to the newcomer.

  2. Where does Barbara go from here? She and Jim divorce, but is she seen in comics after this?

She's still in the continuity in The Long Halloween which takes place obviously after Year One. She tehn leaves Jim off-screen, but comes back to him in Dark Victory. They then adopt Barbara in the Haunted Knight trade. She then leaves Jim for the final time and takes James Jr. with her in the Turning Point trade.

  3. Nah, Barda is Mr. Miracle's wife. She's a New God, so she doesn't age too much. She appears in JLU, alongside her husband in the episode "Ties that Bind." She might have a speaking role in Twilight, too. I don't recall.

Actually, Barda in Batman Beyond is the daughter of Mr. Miracle and Big Barda.

And no, I don't watch Smallville.

No, that was the same Barda that later (or earlier) appears in JLU. In the season three commentary reel, BT reminds the audience that since she's a New God she's practically immortal. Even more so than Superman.

  4. So, I'm actually giddy over WFP finally getting to Return of the Joker. Hearing the guys commenting on what is, in my opinion at least, one of the BEST Joker stories (Up the with The Killing Joke/Death in the Family and Dark Knight). No more of the darkly humorous Joker of B:TAS and Gotham Knights. The Joker we see in Return of the Joker is the sick twisted sociopathic fuck that Alan Moore gave us....and I couldn't be happier.

Ehh......you really can't make it sound like Alan Moore was the only person to make Joker a sociopathic killer. You have to give credit to other writers such as Jim Starlin, Marv Wolfman and Doug Moench who wrote really good Joker stories at the time of A Death in the Family/A Lonley Place of Dying era.

  5. Cool. This was the first Bond novel I ever read.

(Well, assuming we don't count the Find Your Fate version of A View to a Kill.)

Looking forward to listening to this.

I quite liked this movie, although I can certainly see why Ian didn't. I thought the idea of someone becoming slightly obsessed with Bond was cool, in a comic-booky sort of way.
