  1. To answer your question of how all the characters in different time zones could all be in the same one on the ship in Mawdryn Undead. I always took it that the ship was orbiting in time as well as space so that meant that you could transmat down to a particular time period but time on the ship stayed constant. So when everyone goes up to the ship by various means they are all united in the single timeline on board. If that makes any sense.

  2. Caught up with a couple of episodes of this on YouTube. I haven't seen it since I was in my early teens. I did laugh out loud several time and I enjoyed the character of Longhorn. Who couldn't love a man who looks like a bull with the voice of Johnny Cash?

  3. I seen the press release on the Big Finish website about this and I must admit I'm quite excited about. B7 Productions have done some audio plays off their own back but with a complete recast. I haven't listened to them myself but I know opinion is divided on them.

I have a soft spot for The Sevenfold Crown which was a BBC audio broadcast on Radio 4 in the nineties. It had most of the cast returning and was written by Barry Letts who produced Doctor Who for the bulk of the Pertwee run

  4. As Logopolis has just been covered I thought I'd share a crazy theory I've always had about the Watcher and this seemed the place to put it.

The Watcher is the Doctor's last body. Decaying and decrepit like the Master once was. He remembers the trouble his fourth self had regenerating so travels back to make sure things run their course and merges with his previous self to maintain a perpetual loop of existence.

It was a theory I had in my late teens that I always quite liked despite it being complete and utter nonsense.

  5. Great review Mike. Just for your information, the long glass that Xavier is drinking from when he is celebrating is called a yard of ale. I have a friend who downed one of those in about 8 seconds. That was a while ago though.

  6. I'm happy to accept this as earth 2 feedback. Once we start getting too serious about it the feedback war would stop being fun. Besides I think Mr Wilson is going to need all the help he can get for the next episdode ;-)

  7. I would take anything said by Ian Levine with an entire block of salt. He is an arrogant self promoter who wants people to believe that he made a major contribution to the series and if I remember correctly even credits himself with the casting of Colin Baker. The man is an absolute jerk off.

  8. Pardon the delayed response. I'm woefully behind on a lot of podcasts.

I couldn't believe it when you said Ian "Ixta" Cullen popped up in this one! Seeing as I was listening to the episode while eating breakfast alone at a restaurant, I had to bite my lip to make sure no one looked at me as the weirdo who's laughing to himself in the corner.

I was over the moon when I looked him up an realised who he was. I think we are going to be hard pressed to better that.
