RSS
I've been rather torn on the action genre lately. It seems as if the games are struggling over their identity. Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword was a fun, though inconsistent and repetitive experience. And No More Heroes was too busy being sexy / cool to actually be a good game. Which means that God of War and Ninja Gaiden are the only two series that still offer that wonderful mixture of skill-based gameplay and visual satisfaction. Naturally, with gamers to please and money to be made, the move to handhelds was simply a matter of time. Missy
The game sounds rather short. Is a somewhat flawed, though gorgeous six-hour game really worth $35?
Dan
Awesome review, sir Dubs. Too many online reviewers break games down into varying shades of r0XX0r or teh suck. You take the time to go into a fair amount of detail here. I'm a fan.

If you're craving an action/adventure for the DS, sure. Otherwise, it's the definition of a rental. Though it should be noted, most reviewers enjoyed it far more than I did. Missy
Assuming I have $35 to spend on a DS game (which I don't, but let's assume), would Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword or Contra 4 be the better purchase?
Guest
I'd say skip both and get Professor Layton instead. But of the two, Contra's the better bet. Obviously, it's a bit more difficult as well.
Missy
Professor Layton is at the top of my "when I have money" list, but right now I'm in the mood for a mindless action game.
JackFetch
The game sounds rather short. Is a somewhat flawed, though gorgeous six-hour game really worth $35? The same argument holds true for God of War for the PSP.
