Missy
From the AP: Apple CEO Jobs takes medical leave Apple Inc.'s CEO Steve Jobs says he is taking a medical leave of absence until the end of June. Jobs told employees in an e-mail that his health issues are more complex than he thought. Last week, Jobs announced he had a hormone deficiency that had caused him to dramatically lose weight. Apple's chief operating officer, Tim Cook, will take over Jobs' responsibilities while he is on leave.

Missy
Supposedly this news has caused Apple shares to fall by 10%. Though some news outlets are claiming it was only 2.7%. Edited January 14, 2009 by Yoda
Missy
The AP is reporting it fell 2.7%, so disregard what I said about their stock falling 10%.
JackFetch
There have been rumors for awhile that he's been sick. This shows they were right and he was trying to hide it in my opinion. Normally someone's health should be private, but stockholders deserve to know when the only guy that can run the company is sick.
