JackFetch
MTV talked to Iron Man 2 co-star Don Cheadle at the Sundance Film Festival and got an update on the possible War Machine spin-off at Marvel Studios. "They're developing it now, they're working on that," Cheadle said. "I think they've hired a writer, so we'll see how it goes. It would be a lot of fun." He doesn't think James "Rhodey" Rhodes will appear in The Avengers, however. "I don't think he shows up in ['Avengers']," Cheadle added. "I think he's kind of a lone wolf." http://www.superherohype.com/news/articles/114150-war-machine-spin-off-has-a-writer
Stavros
Right, not sure what the point is if you're already making Iron Man films. I mean, what's really going to be different about a War Machine film unless you go into 18 rated Rambo territory and make it a bloodbath? Guest TFG1Mike
The point could be that they will tell Rhodey's Origin Story maybe? As you all know I haven't kept up with comics and the only history of Rhodey I know is from the 1994 Iron Man cartoon. In that all we really get is that he's afraid of water after a battle of being stuck underwater. This could be a good popcorn movie.
JackFetch
I don't see the point of this either. We have Iron Man already. We don't need this.
KnightWing
It makes sense if they go a different route with it. If it's an actual war action movie, then it'll be different from the more traditional superhero-style Iron Man. That being said, there are a lot of other projects they could/should do before this one.
