  1. I like it when I have zero to at work. Wednesdays are slow and I did the entire weeks worth of stuff on Mon/Tues. So, I got to sit down and watch the Reds/Mets game. And got paid. Good day.

  2. I need something cleared up for me. I've heard people talk about Suarez and an intentional handball to save the game. How is this different than fouling a basketball player when you are up by 3 with 4 seconds left? Or a Cornerback grabbing a WR to prevent a game winning TD? Is it just the culture of the game or something else?

  3. Omar Infante being selected has nothing to do with Votto. Charlie Manual wanted a utility guy in case the game goes to extra innings or someone gets injured, and Infante can play seven different positions. He's just playing the game to win it for the National League and get them homefield advantage in the World Series. Blame Bud Selig's stupid ass. They have three first basemen on the roster already. If anything, Votto should have gone over Howard. Hell, why is Arthur Rhodes going as the Cincy representative over Votto? Billy Wagner was snubbed big time, too. He's EASILY been the best closer in the NL this year.

Trust me when I say I have a huge problem with the All-Star game in general. But playing the game to win? Yeah, I get that the winners league gets home field in the World Series. But if you were truly playing to win, then you wouldn't make switches just to get guys into the game. You wouldn't have pitchers pitch 1-2 innings. Like I heard on ESPN earlier this morning, who would you rather have on the bench, bottom of the ninth down by 1: Infante or the NL co-HR leader Joey Votto?

I am hopeful that Votto will win the last player in vote. I have also mellowed a little when I heard Scott Van Pelt on the way home say that Votto getting snubbed gets him name out to the public. Which is completely true. I would say most people don't know Votto because he has not reached Superstar levels yet. Hopefully this can help put him where he should be. Also, I have heard a lot of Votto for NL MVP talk which kind blew my mind when I heard it.

Also, Arthur Rhodes is not the only Red to make the All-Star team (B. Phillips and S. Rolen), and he deserves it plenty. He has only given up 4 runs all year (3 in last weeks Phillies game) for a 1.09 ERA (was 0.23 when he gave up his last 3 runs). I looked up Wagners stats and Rhodes' numbers are similar in everything except Ks.

  4. Visited Wrigley Field on Thursday. Reds beat the Cubs which is nice. And unlike when I visited MSG, Wrigley was a nice place to watch a game.

But more importantly, Joey Votto was ROBBED of an All-Star selection. Guy is only the best player on his team, top five in every major offensive category and playing a mighty fine 1st base. I understand Pojols. I understand Gonzalez. I can even understand Howard, even if it was a homer pick. But Omar Infante? WHAT THE FUCK?!

  5. Game suspended due to lack of light after 59-59 in the 5th set. I have no idea how either guy was able keep focused. 98 and 95 aces in the match. Guess I am watching some tennis tomorrow. Awesome.

  6. Randomly on my way home for work I figured it would be a good idea to watch CM Punk vs. Austin Aries from Death Before Dishonor III. I have zero idea why it popped into my head. I never get sick of this match and the Punk heel turn afterwards. Everything is just fun for whatever reason.

  7. So, I am an ass apparently. I learned that I got a waitress fired last night.

I went out to eat with a few friends. We ate and we paid. On the way out, I saw some other friends and went over to say hello. Hello turned into hanging out for an hour or so. They get their checks and I get one as well. The only thing on mine is a group gratuity. I refuse to pay because I ordered nothing from this waitress. So she got fired after I left for having an unpaid check. Fun times.

  8. Seems like WWE is calling the nXt group "The Radicals".

Choking people with a tie makes people remember Benoit. Naming the new group after a group that included Benoit will not make people remember Benoit. Right.

Oh, I get it now. They're different because the Benoit group was the Radicalz, because ending words with z was edgy and cool. Nope, no problems here.

  9. Dear roommate:

I know that you like corn on the cob. But when you are done cooking it, wash the fucking pot. I don't care if you are going to make some more this year, I'd rather not have a pot of corn water sit on the stove for a week. It is gross.

You recently started taking out the trash. Gold star. But when you take out the trash, you put a fucking new trash bag in the trash can. It takes less than a minute. Yet you refuse to agree that this is part of taking out the trash. And no, leaving your trash on the counter is not an option, you asshat.

When you do laundry, fucking do laundry. Do not tie up the machines for two fucking days because, because, you have no valid fucking reason. You have not left the house and you have done nothing but sit on the fucking couch playing around on your fucking computer. I not only have laundry of my own to do, but since the washer/dryer is in my closet, the smell is annoying.

In the past I if I made some food I didn't mind sharing. You always asked and it was fine. However, cooking the chicken I bought for dinner while I was at work, cooking/eating half and leaving the other half sitting out for hours on the counter is NOT FUCKING OKAY. Now, I am fucked because I planned on cooking tonight and eating leftovers for the next few nights. I have no money to go to the store til Friday. And you response of "well that sucks" almost got you punched in the face.

It isn't like any of this is new, but I would say something and let things slide. Now I am beyond pissed off.

  10. I forgot RAW was on. I just watched the last 15 minutes or so. I have no idea what just happened.

Edit: Just finished reading a recap. I still have no idea what happened and where this will go. Interesting at least.

  11. On Ki's name.

    • Kaval, the name

``I had the spelling of the name differently, which was from the Philippian language Tagalog. It was spelled K-a-W-a-l, but in speaking with management, they said the name itself would probably be a little more difficult for the casual fan to pronounce.

``So we came up with pronouncing it as a `v', knowing that in some European languages the `w' is actually a double v, and that's why it's pronounced with a `v'.

``So we were playing around with the idea, and the Kaval name came to me used with a `v' instead of a `w'. The name meant soldier.

``Me in the ring, I'm a warrior. I'm a soldier. I really go in there and really try to give the people their money's worth by giving them a hard fought battle.''

  12. So what is the over/under on how many of the Season 1 NXT guys stick around?

    Tarver and Young are done.

They'll try something with Otunga but he'll be gone by the end of the year.

Gabriel will get Evan Bourne's spot on Smackdown.

Shefield will get another shot because of his look.

Slater will probably get called back up after six months with a new name.

    Barrett and Danielson are safe.

Exactly what I was thinking. But doesn't that really undermine the entire concept of NXT? If 5/8 are still running around on tv, then what is the point of winning NXT? Cause if you lose, look at Gabriel, he formed a tag team with Matt Hardy. I think you can have Bryan running around due to everything that has been set up, but the others? Not so much.

I don't really know why I am putting this much thought into it. There cannot possibly be enough guys for a 3rd season.

  13. So, yesterday I sold camcorder to a guy I know to be a drunken asshole from my days working at a bar. He goes to pay with a credit card, I ask for ID, per policy, which he naturally doesn't have. I say that I cannot accept the card without ID. He gets all pissy, but pulls out a wad of cash and pays with that. Then he walks away saying that he will never come in the store again and so on.

Today, he comes in. His kid wants to look at some video games. I ask which one, and this asshole says he wants to just look. I state that I can only have one out of the case at a time and I have to be the one taking it out of the case, as per policy. This pisses him off. Then he gets even more pissed off when I say that he needs to pay for the game at my register in the department, as per policy.

He then goes to the front and speaks to my manager. My manager calls me up and asks why I have been unhelpful/rude to this customer. I explain how I followed policy. My manager then turns to this asshole, says that I did everything in line with corporate policies and that if he does not like said polices to not shop at this store and to have a nice day. That right there is why I am not pissed right now. It really made me laugh.

But still, I don't understand how someone cannot have a form of ID. Also, if you are a drunken asshole who has begged me for a free can of beer in the past, yes, I will assume that your credit card is stolen.

  14. Super bump!

How can the Cubs charge an entertainment tax when their fans are being anything but entertained at their mediocre games?

Braves start a stretch of 20 games in 20 days tonight. Ugh, that's brutally bad scheduling.

Reds have 3 games left of their 20 in 20. Seems to have worked out alright, but it can be brutal. I know it must be impossible to make a MLB schedule, but 20 in a row seems a bit much.

  15. Now I know not everyone retains information the same. However, I have no idea how my roommate can forget if he paid taxes or got a refund. And then spends the next five minutes telling me that knowing such information is unimportant and that I am the only person that would remember. Yes, I am the only person who remembers what happened TWO MONTHS ago. Jesus.

  16. I would suggest if you are going to buy tickets in advance to avoid the Cubs website. They were charging an entertainment tax which I had never heard of. Stub hub worked for me.

  17. I know we are only two weeks into the season, but damn. I thought this would be the year the Reds finally had an above average record. But the way the entire pitching staff has preformed, looks like we are headed for another sub .500 season.

Side note: I am really annoyed with the same 12 commercials every game. I might go insane by the all-star break.
