No, it looks about as good as it has a right to be.

Four episodes into season 3 of Harvey Birdman, and this season is knocking it out of the park. Every episode has me in tears. Stephen Colbert is a vocal comic genius, and Peter McNichol is massively underrated as well.
Only semi-related but Adult Swim's been re-airing some old episodes of Space Ghost: Coast to Coast and I am loving every second of it. I wouldn't go as far as to say that Adult Swim's gone to shit, cause... y'know, Rick and Morty, but I do miss the daring and improvisational edge of their early shows.

Flaming Lips tho

As a big alt-J fan, that's pretty good.

No joke though, I'd bet good money that their upcoming "Judas Contract" adaptation will be rated-R.
-
"The Killing Joke" shot right up to their 2nd highest grossing title. So yeah, let's just make everything "R" now.
-
I think they're trying to set up Darkseid. Not that anyone cares at this point.

On a purely visual level this might be the best looking Star Wars movie since the original.

Space Cop: I finally got around to watching RedLetterMedia's original movie and I gotta say I had a really great time with it. It was much better than I had expected based on the overall reaction. And I actually watched their "VHS version" which may have positively affected my opinion.
Suicide Squad: It was terrible but I had fun.
Jason Bourne: Incomprehensible nonsense.
Star Trek Beyond: I was asleep.

This was complete shlock. Me and the person I saw it with were actually laughing at the movie consistently by the end. The writing and most of the acting was truly horrible, however, I gotta say I had a really good time. It's not a good movie and I'll never watch it again but in the end I'll put it at least a couple notches above 'Civil War' when it comes to summer blockerbusters of 2016.

Review embargo has been lifted and it is getting PANNED.

Jim Carrey's performance as Count Olaf / Dr. Stephano / Captain Sham in Lemony Snicket is probably my favorite of his.

Also calling it "agenda pushing" is pretty sour man. At worst it's a bit of unnessary retconing for a good cause. But honestly, were people this upset when they changed Sulu's race? Seems like a lot of hallaballo over nothing much at all.

Fans of the original think it ruins their version.
I have heard nothing but rejoicing from fans.

Yeah, this was pretty bad. The direction was incredibly over done, and although I enjoyed the fact that they seemed to be having fun with the style, it really just came across as a bad "Fargo on FX" impersonation. It was also horribly over-edited and I had trouble following it. I didn't make it through the first episode.

Iron Man and Ed Wood. First Avenger is very weak.

What holes?

The reviews thus far have been very positive. Also AMC has released the first 5 minutes and it looks.... ok.

Short Cuts?

Here's my MCU rating rundown:
Great
Guardians of the Galaxy
Captain America: Winter Soldier
Really good (not great)
Captain America
Iron Man
OK
Captain America: Civil War
Thor: The Dark World
The Avengers
Utter dogshit
Ant-Man
Iron Man 2
Incredible Hulk
Avengers: Age of Ultron
Thor
Iron Man 3
Looking at this list I realize that I've only seen 4 of these, and based on the general reaction in this thread I don't feel like I'm missing anything.
What are you watching and enjoying?

The show was not bad... necessarily, but when it comes to pure filmmaking craft the movie adaptation was so much better. It was like a character-actor's paradise. Jim Carrey, Timothy Spall, Jude Law, Billy Connolly, even Thomas Newman's score are just palely imitated in this version. Barry Sonnenfeld went so tongue-and-cheek with the style that I wouldn't even call it dark. There were some genuinely heart-felt moments in the film but nothing struck a chord with me in the series.
The benefits here are that the whole series feels more thought out, less crammed together, and all things considered a little better written than even the books were. There's certainly a lot to like but it really made me realize how much stronger of a director Brad Silberling is to Sonnenfeld (although that's not saying much).
Oh, and anything to do with Sunny, K. Todd Freeman's Poe, and Olaf's henchmen is cringe-inducingly bad.
EDIT: Having said all that, if I had seen this show when I was eleven it would've been my favorite thing ever.
