  1. The title The Singles Club refers both to the setting of this book and its nature; seven single stories being told about different characters, all occurring at one club in one night. The stories intermingle, pulling threads from each other and providing new perspective each time. Really what you're looking at here is something similar to Brian Wood's Local or Demo, thrown together with a dollop of Hellblazer, constructed as a more elaborate version of the 1999 film Go, with an unhealthy sample of pop culture. Where the first volume, Rue Britannia, was a noir-ish investigation into the death of a pop goddess (literally), The Singles Club spreads itself out, creating a fleshed out set of characters rather than just a musical John Constantine. Penny B, The Marquis, Aster, Seth Bingo and The Silent Girl, Lloyd AKA Mr. Logos, Laura Heaven (an intentionally awful name), and Kid-with-Knife, everyone here gets their time to shine and their story told, at least for just one night.

  2. In this second installment of Wedding Month, Desmond and Megan celebrate their anniversary by taking in 1999's Runaway Bride and 1998's Very Bad Things. The troubles begin in the synopsis. Desmond audibly sighs. Megan wants a fluff. What happens when the accidental death of a hooker is the most lighthearted thing in a comedy? The hosts talk about eggs - a lot. Megan uses words like "schmaltzy" and "super-anal." Wait, Jon Favreau and Jeremy Piven aren't the same person? And in amongst all this, somehow two movies get reviewed. [ 47:24 || 22.0 MB ]

  3. Starfire accidentally travels to a future where the Titans have disbanded ("How Long Is Forever?"), Beast Boy is abducted by a childlike alien ("Every Dog Has His Day"), a rock-controlling teen debuts ("Terra"), Cyborg learns his limits ("Only Human"), Raven deals with her fear ("Fear Itself"), and Robin is forced to go to the prom ("Date with Destiny"). 4. In this episode of Dread Media, it's an odds and ends bonanza as Megan joins Desmond for a discussion on the second season of Sanctuary, then Desmond takes on Attack of the Vegan Zombies. Richard then calls in a review of Jonah Hex. All this, plus the following grab-bag of terror tunes: "TV Casualty" by The Misfits, "Sanctuary" by Alice Cooper, "Ecocide" by Earth Crisis, and "Death of Jonah Hex" by Ghoultown. 5. This week it's a tribute to the premiere independent film studio: Troma! First up, Desmond force-feeds the Poultrygeist Blu-ray to Darryll. Then Desmond goes it alone with the lost masterpiece Troma's War, and the blackly comic Pep Squad. There's talk of poop, war, and cheerleaders, which is business as usual. Terror tunes include: an excerpt from "Daddy, I Don't Like Chicken" by Louis CK, "Chicken" by Buckethead, "Poultrygeist" by Calamari Safari, "America, Fuck Yeah!" from Team America: World Police, "Be Aggressive" by Faith No More, and "El Dorado" by Iron Maiden. Check it out! [ 58:36 || 27.0 MB ]

  6. In "Carnival of Monsters," The Doctor and Jo are miniaturized and placed in a machine where they must fight for their lives. Then in "Frontier in Space," they're pawns in The Master's plan to destroy two spacefaring races. Also, Dan and Mike speak fondly of Roger Delgado, whose tenure as The Master ended with the latter story. [ 1:03:32 || 29.1 MB ]

  7. Never Say Never Again? Not just the movie on review, but the mantra for Messrs Ian Wilson and Adham Fisher, as they call time on For Your Ears Only after 26 months of British nonsense, swearing, and character-assassination. There is a two-hour review of an unofficial Bond film starring Sean Connery, but really, that's not important. The important things are the "Roger Moore in A View to a Kill is Older than..." competition, the explosive return of I-Wizzle, and the hosts' favorite memories of bringing you this irreverent, career-hindering podcast! But remember: Ian Wilson and Adham Fisher will return... [ 3:44:42 || 90.0 MB ]

  8. This week Desmond and Darryll pay tribute to the legendary late Hollywood maniac Dennis Hopper by reviewing the film that contains perhaps his greatest role: David Lynch's Blue Velvet. All this plus chitchat, voicemails, and the following audio oddities: "Montage: Blue Velvet - Blue Star" by Isabella Rossellini and Angelo Badalamenti, "In Dreams" by Roy Orbison, and "If" by Dennis Hopper. RIP Dennis Hopper. [ 1:06:28 || 30.6 MB ]

  9. It's Wedding Month here at Married to Movies! To celebrate, Desmond and Megan take in viewings of Bachelor Party and Father of the Bride. Then a bonus review of Sex and the City 2: The Estrogen Strikes Back by Megan and our friend Shannon. Beware though, this reception gets rowdy. Megan drops the T-word, Desmond drools over Tawny Kitaen, they both sing 1980s rock tunes, Megan shrugs inaudibly, Desmond does a Bing Crosby impression, they talk about the dirty movies they watched in French class, they both cry, and something smells funky in Denmark (and in the living room). It's a mess. [ 1:03:42 || 29.5 MB ]

  10. Because you demanded it! The Sultans of Suffering present the very first audio edition of Tranquil Tirades! Join James and Damien as they discuss Murder-Set-Pieces, an exploitation blunder that both of our hosts agree is the worse movie ever made. Ever. What do Jack the Ripper and 9/11 have in common? Why is there a random kid on railroad tracks? How can you scream with a slit throat? Since when do Nazis look like Kenny Rogers? Just where, exactly, is the plot? None of these questions are answered, but Earth-2.net's resident smartasses still manage to fight the good fight and blow this cinematic abortion away with their Shotgun of Truth and Justice. Remember: They suffer, so you don't have to. [ 1:32:49 || 42.7 MB ]

  11. In this massive episode of Dread Media, Desmond and Darryll debate the finer points of Lovecraftian cinema, gore, and misogyny after viewing City of the Living Dead, and The Human Centipede (First Sequence) inspires Desmond and DW to write poetry and follow their dreams. Combined with Desmond's musings on Celebritygeddon and the following tunes, it's 100 minutes of gut-wrenching terror: "Father's Grave" by Melissa Auf der Maur with Glenn Danzig, "Paura Suite One (Gates of Hell) - Tears of Blood" by Penis Flytrap, "Centipede" by Strapping Young Lad, and "'Til We Die" by Slipknot. RIP Dennis Hopper, Paul Gray, etc. [ 1:40:01 || 45.9 MB ]

  12. Join Megan and Desmond this week as they talk about Fried Green Tomatoes, racism, how hot Mary-Louise Parker is, homosexuality and lesbian metaphors, how hot Mary-Louise Parker is, Kathy Bates' great performance, how hot Mary-Louise Parker is, and what food means to this film. Also, did we mention that Mary-Louise Parker is hot? [ 39:43 || 18.4 MB ]
