  1. Is 1973's Don't Look Now a hidden gem or something that deserves to be left in the past? Desmond and Darryll answer that very question in their review of the Donald Sutherland / Julie Christie vehicle. Then Desmond gets inside Rob Zombie's latest musical outing, and guess what? It's a sequel. Hellbilly Deluxe 2: Noble Jackals, Penny Dreadfuls, and the Systematic Dehumanization of Cool gets a no holds barred, track-by-track review this week as well. Tunes included: "Lil' Bloodred Ridin' Hood" by Children of Bodom, "The Things People Do When They Think No One's Looking" by Hella, "Burn" by Rob Zombie, and "Viva Las Vegas" by Dead Kennedys. Make sure you enter the Dead Beyond the Fence giveaway, and get a signed copy of the book just by emailing me your address. [ 1:35:51 || 44.0 MB ]

  2. Even with three episodes left in the podcast's lifespan, For Your Ears Only definitively draws the line under the official James Bond film franchise in this, our bumper five-and-a-half hour recap episode! Ian and Adham play host to utter insanity, with over 40 potentially career-destroying outtakes and extended outtakes sandwiched between tons of content. This includes: a production history of each episode, kazoos, lists covering every aspect of the Bond universe, both the edited and unedited versions of Adham's most infamous song, as well as another song featuring an AFS collaboration, in-jokes, increased vulgarity, the history of "The Adham Fisher Show," and an original sketch featuring the Jeffrey Wright Felix Leiter and the Russian characters from Octopussy. Sit back, cringe, and enjoy! [ 5:32:08 || 133 MB ]

  3. Is Black Dynamite a satire or spoof? These two honkies are here to give you proof. And if that ain't enough, we'll show you who's tough. There's afros, soul sisters, and broken bones when Des and Darryll watch Black Belt Jones. Sit back and relax is what you should do in the Dread Media special on blaxploitation kung fu. You dig? 4. To celebrate the inaugural episode of March's Musicals & Mobsters, Desmond and Megan kick it off Chicago-style by first dissecting Brian De Palma's The Untouchables and 2002's Oscar darling, Chicago. Kevin Costner's a what?! Megan pulls out her cinephile chops on 1920s Russian silent cinema. Des misses the point. Megan thinks blood and grey matter is pretty. Morricone or Kenny G? You decide. Did Salvador Dali work with De Palma on this one? How does Des feel about Richard Gere? How does Megan feel about her husband being in love with Catherine Zeta-Jones? Who calls who a "butthead?" Megan bursts into song and Des takes exception to a song glorifying violence towards men. Yeah, he does. Meg bursts into song repetitively. There's Schindler's List and Snuggie talk abound, as well as celebrity culture and all that jazz. [ 54:41 || 25.3 MB ]

  5. In this episode of Dread Media, Desmond and Darryll discuss the homogenization of beauty in Hollywood, white-man kung fu, and unibrows. Ooh yeah! And they review the Blu-ray edition of George A. Romero's The Crazies. Then Desmond goes solo on Perkins' 14 and Brian Kaufman's zombie apocalypse novel Dead Beyond the Fence. Tunes include: "Crazy People" by Rehab, "Crazy" by Mushroomhead, "Teenage Monster" by Michale Graves and Damien Echols, "Dead!" by My Chemical Romance, and "Ain't No Grave" by Johnny Cash. 6. What happens when two dashing young gentlemen cross postapocalyptic ruins and enter the realm known only as Mode 7? Another edition of Extra Lives happens, that's what. Join Aaron and Damien as they take you through the next few hours of Chrono Trigger and brave the world of 2300 AD. Also, suspicions of rickrolling, scuba fetishists, and a grown man weeping over abstract art and roses. Don't miss it! [ 1:31:44 || 42.3 MB ]

  7. It's chick flick time again, and 1990's Truly Madly Deeply is on deck. How many times can the hosts mention Ghost? How pathetic would Desmond be if Megan was dead? What's the deal with Desmond's bachelorhood and the fruit fly situation? How wicked is Alan Rickman's mustache? How many bad things are said about British cinema? Would Desmond haunt Megan if he died? The answers to these questions and more in this week's episode of Married to Movies! [ 30:36 || 14.2 MB ]

  8. It's a double dose of Desmond and Darryll this week as they do a Roadkill Review of the latest Martin Scorsese film, Shutter Island. Then they sit back to review the period piece House of the Devil while playing songs recorded no later than 1989! There's tons of homoerotic tension and giggling, as well as some wonky audio in the feedback section. Par for the course in this massive episode of Dread Media! Tunes include: "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)" by Metallica, "Island of Domination" by Judas Priest, "Shout at the Devil" by Motley Crue, and "Sanity" by Bad Religion. [ 1:28:12 || 40.5 MB ]

  9. In "Twilight," Wonder Woman and Hawkgirl give themselves over to stoic, abusive vampires... oh, no. Actually, Brainiac and Darkseid join forces to destroy the sun so vampires no longer sparkle... wait. That's wrong, too. Ohhh, okay! They set a trap to kill Superman because he wrote a positive review of the book for The Daily Planet... or because they're jerks who simply want him dead. Then in "Tabula Rasa," Lex Luthor manipulates Amazo into destroying the League, but he decides to find his own fate. (Hmm, oddly enough it involves becoming stoic and sparkly.) "Only a Dream" then sees Doctor Destiny invading the dreams of his girlfriend and the Justice League, all in an effort to bring them to their knees. (Didn't Edward and Bella come to Stephenie Meyer in a dream? Christ!) [ 2:09:24 || 59.3 MB ]

  10. Tonight, we podcast in Hell! Just how annoyed is Megan by Zack Snyder's 300? She makes a lot of noises, sings about stabbing, and wants rainbows. And then there's the whole thing about beheading Des if the carpet wouldn't get stained. Megan likes the Iliad except for, you know, the part about the war. Des talks about history too much, and wishes wars were fought with swords like in the good ol' days. Megan makes up a word. Des stretches to bring up subtext, and Megan barely buys it. CGI abs? Which member of British royalty does Megan have a crush on? Trick question! She has a crush on two! All this and more in this episode of Married to Movies! [ 38:48 || 18.1 MB ]

  11. It's another Fulci spectacular here on Dread Media as Desmond and Darryll take a look at the Blu-ray of New York Ripper, then Desmond goes solo on Fulci's final film, Door Into Silence. All this plus feedback and the following tunes: "New York, One More Day" by Another Dead Junkie, "Door Into Silence" by Carfax, "From Here to the Hearse" by Wednesday 13, and "Touch Me, I'm Sick" by Mudhoney. Don't forget your questions for the Jeff Strand co-host show, email them to me or to Jeff at jeffstrand@aol.com. [ 1:03:23 || 29.2 MB ]

  12. Crono on trial! Monsters playing poker! A frog with a sword! Dogs and cats living together! It's anarchy in the streets! Or it's just the next few hours of Chrono Trigger. Join Aaron and Damien as they try to prove their innocence whilst thwacking guards on the back of the head. Will our hosts discover the secret to defeating the enigmatic Dragon Tank? Also: frozen sexual deviants, piranhas that don't exist, and Shia LaBeouf playing a hedgehog. It's the best Extra Lives ever. [ 1:30:27 || 41.6 MB ]

  13. Whilst not the last episode of For Your Ears Only, the official Bond franchise is finally caught up with as Ian and Adham review its most recent offering: Quantum of Solace. As they take on the maligned Daniel Craig sequel, the hosts also profile the current 007, whilst the name "Dalton" gets thrown about a bit. Also, Adham gets worked up over a table, Ian compares the Bond villain to wrestler Sean "X-Pac" Waltman, and someone is at their most music hall with both singing and blaxploitation impressions.
