1. In the second installment of Yuletide terror, Desmond and Darryll review the Dutch film Sint (Saint), at least until they get bored and talk about superhero movies and other stuff. Then Devil Dinosaur, Jr. is back with a book review of Kim Newman's Nightmare Movies. Before all that, Desmond talks a little bit about a couple of documentaries he's watched recently: The Green Rush and Until the Light Takes Us. There's songs, too! "Saint and Sinner" by KISS, "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" by The Browns, "Nightmare" by Avenged Sevenfold, and "Reggae Christmas Eve in Transylvania" by Count Floyd all get a spin on the old Rudolph the Red-Nosed Record Player! 2. Your Gods of Rock are back with the first half of Guns N' Roses' double album: Use Your Illusion I. Desmond tweeted Axl Rose. Damien comes up with the idea to cast the Guns N' Roses movie with awkward celebrities. Then the two talk about the pretty significant line-up changes during this era of the band. Then, they actually talk about the album itself! References to Wings (the band), Wings (the sitcom), Cheers (the purveyor of Ted Danson's sexitude), and other one-word plural nouns abound! Naked pictures of Stephanie Seymour are looked at, the perils of incest (and rock and roll decadence, for that matter) are discussed, Shannon Hoon's urine is dissected. All this in the first 35 minutes of this huge episode! [ 1:37:35 || 47.3 MB ]

 3. It's much delayed, but give Desmond a break! He just found this review of True Blood season four he did with the lovely Megan on his hard drive! Better late than never, right? Interesting dynamic here: Megan is an avowed fan of True Blood since season one, and this is the first season Desmond's watched. What did the two think? Things to take away from this review: the girl who plays Jessica is incredibly hot. Really hot. Super hot. Oh, and also some of the guys might be good looking. Or something. [ 19:57 || 9.8 MB ]

 5. Dave and Ian experience the agony and the ecstasy of Blake's 7 as they close out the year with another two episodes. In "Gambit," Blake looks for a man who might know where Star One is, Avon and Vila use Orac to break the bank at a casino, and Servalan deals with the flamboyant mobster Krantor. In "The Keeper," Blake searches for a man who definitely knows where Star One is, everyone tells Jenna she's beautiful, and Cosplay Travis kicks a jester. Plus, how midgets can improve extreme gambling, some old friends appear in a truly epic Who count, and Ian makes a seasonal appeal for feedback via the medium of song. [ 2:18:55 || 66.7 MB ]

 6. Using an ill-gotten time machine, the Cybermen plan to destroy Earth in 1985, thus saving Mondas one year before their very first encounter with The Doctor ("Attack of the Cybermen"). Then, a dying TARDIS needs a rare ore to survive, but to acquire it The Doctor and Peri must withstand the endless traps of a mindlessly violent television show ("Vengeance on Varos"). 8. This episode begins with puns so bad, it almost ends the show. Almost. Why would they end the show when there's so much to talk about in one of the weirdest releases a band has ever put out? This time, Desmond and Damien put on fingerless gloves, and, Guns N' Roses' second official release, G N' R Lies gets its due. In the course of their discussion, there is much said about Aerosmith, Del James, and poor Steven Adler. There's even an impromptu freestyle rap that really sucks! [ 57:44 || 28.1 MB ]

 9. Making a wrestling game is hard. Forget for a second even trying to deliver a somewhat up-to-date product in the given timeframe, you also have to replicate a complex and often misunderstood blend of, well, sports and entertainment. It's easy to see why most wrestling games are inconsistent at best and abysmal at worst. You have to simulate a choreographed fight under the limitations of a spontaneous, legitimate contest. It's a constant battle of expectation vs. execution, style vs. substance, and fantasy vs. reality. In a lot of ways, it's like the WWE itself.

 10. In this episode of Dread Media, through the fog of red wine, two profane films are reviewed, but only one of them is worth your time. Which is it? Helldriver or Chillerama? Listen to find out! Splattering blood and other bodily fluids ahoy! Profane music: "Tokyo Vigilante #1" by Powerman 5000, "The Helldriver" by Voivod, "Drive In" by The Donnas, and "Wrong Turn" by The Young Werewolves. [ 1:02:56 || 30.4 MB ]

 11. Within the last 24 hours I experienced something that I would not wish on any other human being. Something profoundly wrong, disturbing, and sickening. Something that offended me as a man, as a horror fan, as a geek, and as a viewer of movies. I am speaking of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part One. Until now, my experience with the Twilight franchise had been mostly osmosis; I've heard about it, I've had girlfriends see the films, but I'd never directly experienced them myself. As a geek, there's been a certain level of vitriol directed at the series due to its quality and the actions of its fans. And yes, because of my affection for a certain other series starring a vampire with slightly ridiculous hair, I have even jumped on that train myself. But all the same, while I knew it wasn't for me, I never actually bore the series any ill will. If people will pay to watch it, go nuts; it's not hurting anyone. I apologize, that was wrong of me. I have never been more wrong about anything in my entire life.

 12. In this highbrow, literary episode of Dread Media, Desmond is joined by Brother D in the first installment of Read the Book to discuss Robert E. Howard's horror stories. Then Darryll and Desmond review a film based on another literary masterpiece: Frankenhooker. Songs included: "Opening Theme" and "Closing Theme" from Casonetto's Last Song by Luke Stark, "Frankenhooker" by The 69 Eyes, and "Dead Man in My Bed" by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. 13. In this extensive conversation of Guns N' Roses' first official release, Appetite for Destruction, Desmond and Damien discuss all aspects of the early era of the band. Along the way, they pay tons of lip service to LA Guns, Dave Mustaine, Mega Man, and teenage pop stars. Listen as the fellas recount cassette tape woes, vigilante encounters, and the truth of what seven year old Desmond thought "Mr. Brownstone" was really about. It's a whistle-blowin', cowbell-hittin', fat-people-lovin' good time! [ 1:40:47 || 48.6 MB ]
