  1. Here's the suggestions thus far:

    Spider-man loves Mary Jane

    Criminal

    Alias

    Sleeper

    Batman R.I.P

Anita Blake - Vampire Hunter

    Walking Dead

    Chuck Dixion's Nightwing

    The X-Cutioner's Song

    Fatal Attractions

True Story, Swear To God Archives Vol. 1

    Marvel Apes

    Omega: The Unknown

    Fables, Vol 3: Storybook Love

You two do realize you might actually have to cover some of these books, right?

  2. Here's a casting rumor that might be a little controversial...

How do you sell a character as anachronistic as Captain America to a modern audience? Get the one actor so wide-appealing that he can sell anything to a global audience.

Out doing press for Spike Lee's "Miracle at St. Anna", actor Derek Luke let slip an interesting casting rumor he heard on the grapevine.

"I heard they offered Will Smith ‘Captain America'...just shows you how times have changed" the young thesp told MTV News. Luke himself said he is keen on certain roles - "I would love to jump into Green Lantern. There are a lot of stories I’m into… [like] Black Panther."

Of course Smith's schedule is highly in demand this report is little more than second-hand gossip for now, but it does bring up some interesting possibilities.

I'm honestly not sure how I'd feel about that. On one hand, he's a very good actor with the kind of presence that would make people follow him, both in the movie and to the box office (Of course, I can't imagine them signing him for a 3 picture deal, plus the Avengers movie). On the other hand, he's black. Personally, I don't know if Cap's image is so iconic that there needs to be a certain type of actor to play him, but I can imagine a lot of fanboys blanching because of this. Of course, the same could be said with a very gay man playing the role, too (John Barrowman).

Is Cap's history tied in with what race he is?

  3.

    Why so sad?

The fortnightly announcement. I look forward to IIWY? quite a bit, and I have yet to find a non-Earth-2 podcast that makes me laugh as much on a regular basis. On the upside, I am looking forward to whatever the next top-secret project is...

I got it! You're both going back to finish Countdown! icon_flucht.gif

  4. Donner Steps In To Save Superman's 'Birthplace'

Superman director Richard Donner is among the celebrities fighting to save the childhood home of the comic book superhero's creator.

Bestselling author Brad Meltzer visited Jerry Siegel's former home in Cleveland, Ohio while researching his new book, Book of Lies, and was disappointed to find the building in a state of severe disrepair.

So, teaming up with fellow writers, comic book creators and famous friends, he has launched a fundraiser to help rebuild the home where Siegel first created Superman.

The celebrities and writers have offered Meltzer a series of auction items, which the author is offering up for sale on OrdinaryPeopleChangeTheWorld.com.

Meltzer says, "When I saw that the house where Superman was created was in disrepair, it just seemed wrong. The house where Google was created is saved. The farm where Hewlett Packard was founded is preserved. The Superman house deserves the same respect."

The auction, which ends on 30 September, features a walk-on part in TV show Heroes and the chance to have a comic book character named after you.

  5. Some of those aren't guilty pleasure movies, i.e. movies generally agreed upon as bad but you still like for whatever reason. For instance:

    The Breakfast Club

    St. Elmos Fire

    Back To The Future Series

    Lethal Weapon Series

The Batman Superman Movie: Worlds Finest

Batman Beyond: return Of The Joker

    Who Framed Roger Rabbit

    Ferris Bueller's Day Off

    Spider-Man Series

    X-Men Series

    Iron Man

    Empire Records

    Are not really bad movies.
