  1. The AI is a little nutty (like if you're wandering the field, low on life, and they see an enemy over a couple distant hills, they will SPRINT INTO BATTLE), but on the whole I loved this. It's a lot more fun going through it on the dark side than on the light.

  2. Yeah, it's packed with the HDD.

At first I was adamant about not buying this load of crap. But now that we're closer to the launch date, I'm having second thoughts. I really, really want to play this game, and I guess the first two months are free. I'll beat it by then.

    I'm unsure, still doubtful.

  3. Star Ocean: The Second Story, bitches!!

One of the most entertaining, challenging, enjoyable RPG / action games I've ever played, if you can stand the outrageously bad voice acting after every battle. There are supposedly more than two dozen different endings, just as many extra characters, hundreds of side quests and a really solid main story. I can't WAIT for the third one to come out.

This is $10-$20 used at EB right now. Go buy it.

  4. I was an enormous Spawn fan when the series first started. My first issue was #5, which still sticks out in my mind as a highlight of McFarlane's career, both in art and in storytelling.

I bought it religiously until issue 90-something, and then realized how god-awful it had become. I won't even think about it any more.

  5. I'm the only one with a Turbo Grafx 16?

I've got one of those, a NES, a SNES, an N64, a PSone, a PS2, a GameCube, a Dreamcast, a Gameboy original (pre-pocket, absolutely pre-color), a GBA, a Phillips CD-i, a Mattel Aquarius, a PC, a Mac and up until about two months ago, when it quit working, an Xbox.

  6. I've got a PowerGlove that I found at Goodwill a long while ago... weird thing is, it's not set up for the NES. The connection at the end of the cord is for a serial port or something.

I had the power pad when I was a kid (remember the big DDR pad lookin' thing that had twelve buttons on it, all blue or red?) I kicked ass at the long jump on NES Track and Field.... I had a couch on one side, so I could jump and support my own weight for a couple seconds before landing. I'd jump like 40'.

I also own three (!) PlayStation DDR pads. One is mutilated to the point it's almost unusable, because the first time we modded our pads, we just strapped them to some wood instead of padding them, and after about six months, the plastic on the back of the pad itself completely shredded. We've since re-modded them with carpet fragments between the wood and the pads, and that's working out much better for us.

I want the Samba de Amigo maracas, but I can't justify the outrageous prices they run on ebay, and I've got the SeaMan microphone for my Dreamcast.

  7. I've bought everything with Bendis' name on it since he put out "Torso" a handful of years back. The man is incredible. I have no idea how he puts out so many books on a regular basis that are so unbelievably good. Alias, Powers, USM, UF4, Daredevil... they're all among my monthly favorites.

  8. It's getting a little strange that everybody Yorick starts to think about cheating on his girlfriend with miraculously winds up dead just after he's finished with them... :)

Great premise, and I love the book's visual style.
