  1. Shoot, now I've gotta ask a question... umm...

OK, Office Space. Writer (and Beavis & Butt-Head / King of the Hill creator) Mike Judge has a guest appearance in a somewhat memorable role near the middle of the film. Who did he play?

He's listed under a different name in the credits, so don't expect any help there. And the character isn't named, so just a suitable description will do.

  2. I was very intrigued by this, (apparently oft-delayed title) can you explain what the deal is with it?

I don't think it's delayed, so much as it is published on a once-every-six-months schedule. The painted art is what slows it down so much, although The Pulse keeps the story rolling on a regular basis at the moment, since the two are pretty closely tied.

    It's Bendis, so it's good.

  3. Lots of Ultimate stuff.

Ultimate Spider-Man, Ultimate Fantastic Four, Ultimate X-Men (although I'm planning to drop it this week), the Ultimates v2, New Avengers, Secret War, Daredevil, The Pulse, Powers (technically a Marvel book) and The Punisher. I keep thinking there are more, but I can't imagine what they are.

I'm also working my way through my 1602 hardcover edition.

  4. I think the Mac Mini is destined to go the same way as the G4 Cube, but it's still frickin' awesome looking and I guarantee you PCs start coming out in that size and shape about ten years down the road.

I was in Computer Boulevard 2 months ago and saw a ton of computers like that

Really? OK, I stand corrected then. I haven't been to a computer specialty store in ages... just saw all the desktop models they have at Circuit City and Best Buy.

  5. Carrie, as in Carrie Fisher. It's one of my favourite movei stuff ups.

I think I remember either reading or hearing somewhere that it's an incorrectly-labeled goof, since Hammill was kind of wildly shouting more than saying her name. Either Fischer, Hammill or Lucas said it wasn't a goof-up. Truthfully, it sounds more like he's saying "Heyyy!"

And how can you love that more than the Stormtrooper hitting his head, anyway? :)

  6. From Yoda's link, in reference to Hooded Justice.

Unknown to the general public, Hooded Justice had a gay relationship with one of his teammates, Captain Metropolis, who alone among the Minutemen may have known Justice's true identity. Although the Silk Spectre often pretended to be his girlfriend in public, he also had frequent rough sex sessions with young men, perhaps supporting the Comedian's speculation.

Maybe my memory's going, but I don't remember Moore ever officially outing Hooded Justice, and I certainly don't remember any allusions to "rough sex sessions with young men" or a relationship with Captain Metropolis. Did they just pull this whole paragraph out of their ass? I always thought the way they kept HJ ambiguous, without ever answering the question of whether he was or wasn't, was one of the biggest appeals of the character. Same goes for his disappearance and the hints pointing to a body that had washed up on shore. He hinted it, but never came out and said it, so there were still some things left in the dark on the character.

  7. Saw these when I was clicking around Apple's site for a quicktime version of the Sin City trailer.

I love Apple. They make such cool shit, and it looks like they're finally starting to understand that the price tag is a big part of what's kept them out of the market up until this point.

I think the Mac Mini is destined to go the same way as the G4 Cube, but it's still frickin' awesome looking and I guarantee you PCs start coming out in that size and shape about ten years down the road. Apple always seems to be about five or ten years ahead of the curve.

The iPod Shuffle I'm not that enamored with. The price is right, but I really want one of the old-school iPods. I yearn for 40GB of power in the palm of my hand, not 1GB of storage in a box the size of my finger.

Edit: The Mac Mini is 2.9 pounds!! HAHAHA!! That is absolutely hilarious!! 1.4GhZ G4 in a 2lb package.

  8. That scene in the rain was unfreakingbelievable. This movie is either going to kick all kinds of ass or really, really disappoint me. They've gotta be careful with that bizarre, outlandish makeup and special effects direction. I think it can work, and I really like all the effort they went through to keep it loyal to the look and feel of the comic, though.

  9. If you're looking strictly for longevity, the Gamecube takes it hands down. I'm on my third Xbox and my PS2 is right on the verge of collapsing under its own weight, but my Cube is still flawless.

Of course, if hardware, performance, library and online support are factored in, the Cube doesn't stand a chance.

Hardware is easily Microsoft's... everything's built in, for the same price, and almost every game in the catalog uses one or more of the system's unique built-in accessories. How many PS2 games have downloadable content or custom soundtracks?

Performance also goes to the Box, although Sony is close. Their developers seem to be pushing the hardware a little more than MS's, but that's just to keep up with the Box's everyday processing.

Game Library goes to the PS2, by a hair. There's almost no such thing as an exclusive anymore, apart from Nintendo's first-party titles, Halo for the Box and Final Fantasy for the PS2 (if you overlook the shitty, shitty FF they brought out for the Cube). EVERYTHING goes cross-platform these days, and EVERYTHING looks better on the Xbox. Still, Sony's first-party titles wipe the floor with everything MS has got, aside from Bungie's contributions.

Online Support is no contest whatsoever. If you've played Sony Online and then played Xbox Live, it's like night and day. Sony's in the dark ages and Microsoft is paving the roads for the future.

    I voted Xbox.

  10. holy man if your plan on paying a hundred dollars for the game consider the facts

    ps2-130-300$

    hard drive-80$ give or take

    game-100$

    total- 310-480$

while if you get it for computer considering you have one it would only cost 85$ and if you dont have a computer you could get an ok one at a local shop for 80-150$ so after you consider this it is allot easier to just get th computer version but i wouldnt mind it for ps2 if it was cheaper

The game comes pre-installed on the HDD. The PS2 is $149. The Hard Drive is $80-90 now, depending on where you go for it.

So a total of $239 at worst. But no, it's not even worth that. THANKS FOR SUPPORTING THIS PERIPHERAL, SONY!
