  1. Plus the Ben Kingsley paycheck of the film: Michael Cain. I second this nomination.
  2. My mistake James, sorry I was listening to it this summer and just lumped it in with this years stuff.
  3. I'd say DW's rant about the Transformer films. Plus going to echo the various Godzilla nominations, just about anything from that one was gold. Especially anything that started, "Hey...wouldn't it be cute if....."
  4. Just out of curiosity how many people going to check out the theater showing next Monday? I managed to get most of my crew together who saw Day of the Doctor.
  5. Cool, looking forward to the Gatiss episode. I like the sound of the title and I've been a fan of a lot of episodes he's written.
  6. Is it just me or is Moffat writing more this season than usual?
  7. I just finished up Injustice Vol 2. WOW! I mean I'm new to this whole comic reading thing but I think this series has been excellent so far. The focus isn't on action as one might expect but there's some really good characterization going on in the story. Seeing Superman's slide to basically the dark side has been well done. There are some great scenes which I'll put in spoilers just in case people don't know them. Anyway trying to decide if I wait for Vol 3. or start buying the individual issues. I'm real interested in seeing where things go.
  8. To add another idea to the why they surivived as long as they did, Gamora was upgraded with internal tech. I assumed Starlord was as well and thus explained why they held out as long as they did.
  9. I saw it this past Friday and really enjoyed it. I thought Chris Pratt did a fine job. He had the right mix of funny man, action hero, and people person. All the rest of the cast did great and props to the animators on Groot and Rocket. In fact I just about loved the design of everything in the film from ships to characters. My only real point I might raise with the film is it didn't quite explain some things. Such as why the Nova Corps was so important and it kind of glossed over the war between them and the Kree which just ended. Still I picked up on it even with my casual knowledge about the Marvel U however I could see a regular movie viewer scratching their head. I was also real interested in seeing Karen Gillan in her role as Nebula. Having not seen her as anything else than Amy on Doctor Who I was very curious to see her as a badguy. I was a little let down on how she didn't get to do much but what I saw I liked. I'd rate it as a 9/10
  10. So I'm trying to be more active in the forum here and a good place to start would be here. The reason why is I'm starting to actually buy and read comics after years of being a fan of superheroes through other media, DCAU, films, etc. So far this summer I've read different books based on recommendations made by Dan and Mike on different podcasts. So far this summer I've knocked out Superman: Red Son which was really good. I'm currently on Batman Year One, saw the animated film a while back and enjoying the comic as well. I also read Injustice Vol. 1 and really liked it. Going to pick up Vol 2. soon for sure.
  11. I have a copy of some of the TNG cast doing the War of World's broadcast. It's really a good listen with nice performances from Brent Spiner, Leonard Nimoy, and Gates McFadden. Other Trek regulars are in it but I do have a harder time picking up their voices. John DeLancy is in it but for the love of me I can figure out who he plays. War of the Worlds is one of my favorite classic stories, will give the podcast a listen when the time comes.
  12. Has there been an Earth-2.net the Show episode about all the DC chaos or one done by another E2 Podcast? I for some reason find myself fascinated by this train wreck which seems to be going on.
  13. I used Big Fish for both my choices Now I didn't even know that it was a Tim Burton film and now that I think about it its probably one reason I like it. For me I loved how they did the storytelling bits and generally enjoyed the story. I thought the end was also really well done with the son becoming the storyteller for the father. From the rest of the list I enjoy Mars Attacks and Beetlejuice for the comedy. The rest just doesn't really click with me, although I appreciated the visual quaility of Corpse Bride, didn't see Frankweine but thought it looked good as well.
  14. I did forget to add Batman: Year One, really did enjoy that. So my revised list, The Dark Knight Batman Begins The Dark Knight Rises World's Finest/Batlam Year: One I have Under the Red Hood on my list of things to watch on Netflix.
  15. My top Batman picks. Its been over a decade since I've seen the Burton films and Schumacker's I don't bother listing. The Dark Knight Batman Begins The Dark Knight Rises World's Finest (I'm going to count it as a movie)
  16. Hey just wanted to say I really enjoyed the last of the Dark Knight reviews. Lot's a great points about the Dark Knight Rises and Ian's Bane voice was a nice counterpart to his Batman one LOL. A fine way to celeberate episode 650!
  17. After much listening to Earth 2 shows finally joined the fourm!
