  1. "His Name Was Jason" was great. The same creative team being on this has me excited.

"His Name Was Jason" was an alright documentary, but so far nothing has been as good as the Halloween documentary. Tgere is a Psycho documentary and a Jaws documentry that has yet to be released, but even they are longer than 90 minutes. I am looking forward to this, but only 90 minutes for 8 films, comic books, videa game and a TV series is a bit discouraging. Hopefully there won't be any in between segments.

  2. A dark Superman story has been done.

    superman3ws.jpg

The problem was they also had Richard Pryer in the movie, which completely negated the dark part of the story.

That was not a dark Superman film, that small part of the film was just a small subplot. Funny enough it was the best part of the film. A film with Bizarro may work, that's what that was all supposed to be.

  3. And I quote Bats in Hush: "Deep down inside, Clark is a good person."

The only line I've ever seen crossed with that has been with the Justice Lords or in Red Son. And it could be played well on a theatre screen, yes, as good intentions gone horribly, horribly wrong, however, I don't think mainstream America is ready for that just yet.

Well, I think the main problem you'd get with that is that in both of those versions, something went horribly wrong. They're amazing stories, but they are very specifically alternate universe stories. If you made the mainstream version of Superman cross a line and become an evil overlord, that wouldn't really be Superman.

If you want a dark Superman story, all you need to do is make the situation dire. Apokolips invasion, anyone?

An Apokolips Invasion film would need to come after a series of at least 2 to 3 films. You can't put something that epic into one film, especially a film that has to tell the origin at some point and than introduce all the characters. I'd say if it was that scenerio, have someone like Lex or Brainiac be the villain in the first film, but as a side story we show signs of Darkseid. After all the action is over, we than see Darkseid or at least a part of him speaking of his plans.

  4. This is what I mean too many people have their own view on how a reboot should be done. What they really need to do is ignore what we all want(Spider-Man 3 is an example of what happen when you try to give everyone what they want)and have a person who is a cxomic book geek to write the film.

  5. I would consider Superman Returns a dark Superman movie.

And Superman should not cross a line.

Superman Returns isn't really dark, it was written by a fanboy and it shows on every level, except quality. While its not the worse film in the franchise, it had its own flaws and copied way too much from the first 2 films(Lex's plan, the ditzy sidekick of Lex, Kryptonite, everytrhing)just used today's technology.

I'm not saying he would cross a line, but those characters have managed to get Superman to act out in a way that he's tried to avoid with the strength he has.

  6. Creating a good Superman film is somewhat difficult. I mean the world has their own idea of what makes Superman, Superman. The comic book films that come out now and generate a huge audience are dark characters(Batman, Constantine, Blade, etc)Superman isn't a dark character. He has an edge that no film has ever attempted to point out, but you first need that origin film, however Richard Donner has already given us an excellent origin film that could never be surpassed, so that backs us in another corner.

How can you tell a dark story involving Superman and not have to tell the origin story first? Well the only thing I can think of is telling the origins in flashbacks, maybe only through the credits, using the John Williams theme(there is no other)and maybe picking a story to adapt faithfully that puts Superman to the edge, possibly bringing in a big character like Darkseid or Brainiac, someone who could push his buttons to a point where he may or may not cross a line. As bad as Lex is, Superman would never cross that line with him.

  7. Honestly, I don't see it happening anyway, she's too far away from the story now.

Yeah, but she does help to make the costume in some of the stories, lol. She will most likely make at least one more appearance toward the end of the series(S9 or S10)

  8. I'm 27 years and could remember Jason David Frank as one of my favorite Power Rangers(when the series was still good and Disney didn't have their grubby hands on the franchise)and if this is true I will definitely start watching UFC, hopefully he doesn't do the HIYAH!!!'S, lol

Anyway, here is my little Power Ranger geek coming out

Jason David Frank is the only cast member to be a Power Ranger through both eras of Power Rangers(Saban era and Disney era, although Adam did return as the Black Mighty Morphin Power Ranger in a 2 part Operation Overdrive episode).

He's the longest running Power Ranger, outlasting David Yost who comes in 2nd.

These are the colors he wore:

    Green Mighty Morphin Power Ranger

    White Tiger Power Ranger

Red Zeo Power Ranger (Zeo Ranger 5, Red)(he guest starred on an episode of Wild Force with 9 other ex Red Rangers)

    Red Turbo Ranger I

    Black Dino Ranger

In the Japanese Version of the Power Rangers, the Green Ranger died and came back a few times as a spirit(the White Ranger was a kid), since America has guidelines on killing heroes in kids TV shows(they knocked that out with Power Rangers Lost Galaxy)he was simply written out for a few episodes.

He was the original choice for Ryan on VR Troopers and did pretty well with his performance, but his popularity caused the Producer to reconsider him for that role and put him back in the Power Rangers

In one of David Yost's last episodes, the female VR Trooper guest starred as a Love interest after Kimberly broke up with him. She was obviously his co-star on the original VR Trooper pilot.

  9. But I'd love to see him try!

I've got an HBO miniseries based on the life of Prometheus in my head. Hint: it doesn't end well for him.

Didn't Prometheus get tied up by Hera as a punishment for Zeus? This caused the mortal world to lose their ability to heal themselves and fire from being made. At the end wasn't his inards eaten by a Vulture like bird?

  10. I have been watching and enjoying "Clash of The Gods". It's been keeping me satisfied until they bring back "The Deadliest Warrior" Actually, the Zeus episode was the one that gave me ideas for stories. We've been told the story of Hercules many times...why not a series about his daddy?

Zeus is a great character and much can be done with him, but Hercules for me has always been a better set of stories because with him there is more danger because he's half mortal. Although, learning more about Cronos, Rhea and the Titans would be fun.

Tomorrow "Clash of the Gods" is talking about Medusa....:)

  11. I am a huge fan of Ancient Mythology, especially the Ancient Greek Myths(has anyone seen the History Channels "Clash of the Gods?"). I have been having great ideas for a new TV series based off the legendary hero Hercules. This series or mini movies would be more based on the actual myths(unlike the Kevin Sorbo series, which mixed and matched certain myths). It would be dark and center more in a reality based setting, instead of making it too fantasical.

Here's how it would be if made into a series

The pilot film would see Hercules born and growing up part man, part God, it would of course feature Hera's numerous attempts to kill Hercules as a child. The pilot would also show him as a drunk and family man who is driven crazy by Hera and killing his family. He would stand on trial for his sin and thus the series begins.

Each season would feature him accomplishing 2 of his 12 Labors with brand new adventures in between. I figure most series last at least 5 Seasons(to make the quota of 100 episodes)and this would allow for a good run, with the last episode being a 2 hour Series finale and his rise as a God

  12. Hey everyone, with the success of the Twilight films, it is no surprise that Ane Rice's Vampire Chronicles will once again be unleashed on the big screen. It isn't clear yet if they will begin a new or just continue where they left off, but so far Robert Downey Jr is said to be in close negotiations to play Lestat(played before by Tom Cruise and Stuart Townsend). I'm also unsure if Anne Rice will have anything to do with the production, considering her new path.
