RSS
As Hey, an Actor! continues its coverage of veteran actors in 2016, The Brothers Wilson cover Pandy's desired pick for the year: the double Academy Award-winning Dustin Hoffman. One of his Oscar wins is covered in the review of Rain Man, whereas the other films amount to the acclaimed political biopic All the President's Men and Hoffman's breakout role in The Graduate. Along the way, Simon & Garfunkel punctuate the episode, whilst questionable references are made to children's TV show Zzap and Robin Thicke, Ian explains how Booker T would improve The Graduate, and Pandy makes the songs of Morrissey utterly profane. Also, Statistician Ian meets the PanDemon. [ 2:27:43 || 71.3 MB ]
Stavros
Real rollercoaster episode from the high of referencing Histor's Eye to the low of being dissed in drop form. I mean, you guys know that music is the only way to really hurt me.I will have my revenge, oh yes. Edited March 6, 2016 by Stavros
slothian
"Drop form"?!?Also, that jingle was 100% Pandy's doing - my reaction was that of someone who hadn't heard that until it aired on the episode.
Stavros
Drop- an audio addition. Basically a sound or jingle.
Stavros
You can tell how quick I'm going through this.Ian, the original World War Z is not a comedy book, it's a bleak literal text about a near apocalypse. You might argue that the concept behind the Zombie Survival guide is comedy because it's a serious book of a ridiculous subject but even there you don't find any actual jokes. slothian
I think what I meant to say was Max Brooks is funny, and that he was the writer of World War Z. Earth-2 the Show put out a convention recording of him a couple of years ago and it was highly entertaining.
Stavros
Ah fair enough. You seemed to imply the book was funny even if the film wasn't, whereas the book the serious and the film is merely bad.
