RSS
If there were ever a Renaissance man in the horror genre, Clive Barker would certainly be it. He's been a playwright, novelist, painter, photographer, director, screenwriter, film producer, creative developer for video games, comic book line editor and children's book illustrator. Wherever he goes he brings his unique brand of erotically charged dark fantasy and deep horror. I make it no secret that I have a longstanding connection with his work. Clearly, this installment of Reel Dread is going to be slightly biased. Chops
Good read, however I'm surprised that you didin't mention his Books of Blood, which contain some great stories.
Dread
Good read, however I'm surprised that you didin't mention his Books of Blood, which contain some great stories. In fact, I think the Books of Blood are his best work other than the Books of the Art. I could have gone to great length discussing the relation between story and film adaptation of the three (?) stories made film but I wanted to pay more attention to why they work. For a longer rambling essay, check out next week's Stephen King episode. Thanks for reading!
