Missy Posted December 13, 2007 Report Posted December 13, 2007 Thanks to a gift card, I just purchased Batman: Death and the City and Superman: For Tomorrow, volumes one and two. Without spoiling them for me, what's the general opinion of these? Don't most people hate the Azzarello / Lee Superman run? Quote
tglancy Posted December 14, 2007 Report Posted December 14, 2007 For Tomorrow should be shot. I know it's a book, but it should still be shot. Quote
Missy Posted December 14, 2007 Author Report Posted December 14, 2007 Never, not once have I heard a kind word about Superman: For Tomorrow. What makes it universally scorned? Quote
Guest Posted December 14, 2007 Report Posted December 14, 2007 From what I've heard, that's the one that heavily features Emo-Supes. Quote
Malpractice Posted December 14, 2007 Report Posted December 14, 2007 Batman: Death and the City is awesome. It has the Dini Scarface and Harley issues, and the great Zatanna two-parter so you will not be dissapointed. Also, one of the fill-in issues features your favorite gang of villians The Terrible Trio lol. I've never read Superman: For Tomorrow but from what i have seen of it, it looks like an intresting read to say the least. Quote

Missy Posted December 16, 2007 Author Report Posted December 16, 2007 Having just finished volume one of Superman: For Tomorrow I can officially say I didn't hate. But... I don't think I loved it either. Don't get me wrong, Jim Lee's artwork was phenomenal, but the writing was just sort of bland at times. I'll have to read volume two soon to see if it picks up. Quote
