annericelover
BELIEVE IT OR NOT!....Back in 2004, Disney optioned the rights to the popular 80's TV Series Greatest American Hero. Creator Stephen Cannell who was also responsible for shows like A-Team and 21 Jump Street was said to be looking over the production and making of the film. But I haven't heard much about this film being made, since. Does anyone know if the film is still going to be made, or if the companies in charge decided against it? I have the entire series on DVD and originally thought that the I Love the 80's segmant on VH1 made the DVD release possible, now I think it was to renew interest in the show. JackFetch
The director of the feature film version of the 1980s TV series The Greatest American Hero is reportedly walking on air, and he never thought he could feel so free. Flying away on a wing and a prayer. Who could it be? Believe it or not it's just -- Stephen Herek, the director of Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure. That's what ProductionCharts.com reported December 27. The site also claims that production is slated to begin this July in Arizona from a screenplay penned by Chris Matheson and Ryan Rowe. Stephen J. Cannell, the creator of the TV series, and Michael Dubelko are producing the film. Herek's reps couldn't be reached for comment, and Cannell's production company did not respond to our request for comment at time of publish. A movie version of The Greatest American Hero has been in-development since 2000. Stephen Herek's credits include Man of the House, Critters, 101 Dalmatians, Mr. Holland's Opus, The Mighty Ducks, Holy Man, and The Three Musketeers. http://movies.ign.com/articles/843/843330p1.html

I'm kind of excited. I hope that William Katt or Robert Culp is involved in a cameo or something. Or maybe it's a sequel to the series finale and will have a new person after Hinkly and the Heroine(the teacher who got the powers in the 86 episode).
