Dan
Hey Ian, Great review. I've always felt that the original Hulk movie was kind of unfairly maligned, and you captured a lo of my feelings perfectly. And yes, yours is a manly roar. Strong, like bear. Missy
Listening now: - That roar was pretty weak, sorry. - Thanks for giving me a new word, that being "requel." - To be fair, Hulk has never looked like Banner. - Did you say they cut 17 or 70 minutes of footage? Great analysis of the two films, Ian! I enjoyed how you broke them down, and then had to debate the scores.
slothian
Listening now: - That roar was pretty weak, sorry. - Thanks for giving me a new word, that being "requel." In fairness, I did steal that from somewhere. Possibly Empire magazine, alhough I really can't remember - To be fair, Hulk has never looked like Banner. Fair enough, although that does surprise me slightly. - Did you say they cut 17 or 70 minutes of footage? 70. And as such, I think that a director's cut would make for a more interesting movie, a la DareDevil. If only because Norton was really stoked for doing the role and the final cut offers no real clues as to why. Great analysis of the two films, Ian! I enjoyed how you broke them down, and then had to debate the scores. I think that if The Incredible Hulk wasn't consciously made within the new Universe and the whole Sterns/Super Soldier nods etc were all stripped away, you'd get a better film in Hulk as it played with the Bruce-Betty-Ross triangle SO much better. But if you ever do watch Hulk again, I guarantee that pretty much any of the few actions sequences will be found to be disappointing.
