RSS
In this Belgian-themed episode of Dread Media, Desmond and Darryll sit down to have an in-depth discussion of one of Desmond's favorite movies, 1988's The Vanishing. Then Desmond goes solo on Left Bank, a 2008 Belgian film. Also, Desmond reads a submission from Brain Kaufman regarding Denver's "March of the Zombies II," a zombie-themed fashion show! All this plus the winners of the Dead Beyond the Fence / Sorority Row giveaway, and tunes aplenty: "Vanishing" by A Perfect Circle, "Purity" by Slipknot, "The Cellar" by King Diamond, "Anti-Fashion" by Social Distortion, and "Zombie Apocalypse Blues" by Mary Shelley Overdrive. slothian
Interesting to hear the review/dissection of The Vanishing. I still remember Des's hatred for the remake from episode #42 (still in my Dread Media Top 5 episodes!) so to hear what the standard of the original film is/was made for interesting listening. And damn if this episode isn't tempting me to watch a film set in Belgium, possibly the dullest European country this side of Luxembourg.... Dread
My hatred for the remake is cooled in my old age. It's an effective thriller until they completely neuter the film with the ending.
