Introduction forum

Recommended Posts

This idea isn't necessarily meant to work now, but rather when we start getting more people signed up for the forums. I think once more and more new people start joining the boards that we should have an "Introduce Yourself" forum where newbies can say "hi" and let us know they exist. I've seen this on a lot of other forums and surely it could work here. It would certainly foster a good start and encourage people to want to post.

I like this idea, but agree that we should hold off. Question, though: does it really need its own forum, or should it maybe be a pinned thread that everyone can use to chime in?

Pinned thread.

That's really the way I'm leaning right now. Another site I mod for has one of these, and it seems to work better than an entire forum.

An introduction forum is a great idea, and might get people to start posting. I've been here for a little over two weeks, yet I doubt I've seen more than 20 out of the 130 members of this forum post.
