SuaveStar
So what did everyone think? I couldn't find any threads on this movie yet. I enjoyed it, I mean it wasn't goldeneye and was a straight sequel to casino royale, but it payed everything off and was entertaining. The theme song was ok, again even though it wasn't Goldeneye. I give it a 7 out of
Guest DCAUFan1051
it aint even out here in the states yet but the USA network ran the brosnan films with special behind the scenes looks at it.
SuaveStar
Oh. Well good thing I didn't post any spoilers...that and I forgot most of the movie since yesterday....
Mylandro
You already know my thoughts on it Suavy but (and without giving away anything to do with the plot!) when it ended I was sorta like "was that it?". Since then I've changed my mind, but it did end very anti-climacticly. It's a good film but it's not fair to really compare it to Casino Royale. It's as different to that as Casino Royale was to the original Bond films. I hated the intro sequence and the graphics that came up on screen whenever it changed location though, but the lack of gadgets was good. That's something I found quite annoying with more recent 'classic' Bond films. Still, not GoldenEye.
slothian
Ah, that's where me & Adham are going wrong - reviewing all those Bond films that aren't Goldeneye!! We have given our guarded musings on QOS in the show we've just recorded for Diamonds Are Forever and will probably expand upon them for the December show as everyone will have had a month to see the film by then. Stavros
It was Bourne Supremacy meets License to Kill. I liked it a lot.
slothian
Well, if now is the time to be talking QOS, I like it as a directional step for the franchise. It manages to continue the series from Casino Royale without really being ANYTHING like the last film. And whilst it feels that it's only a two-film story-arc by the way it ended, there's definitely grounds to continue Bond vs Quantum in future films. SkylerQ91
I enjoyed the film quite a bit but I thought it was missing something. I'm not sure what but something. For just one good thing and one bad thing... I liked how the film ended (I really liked how it was shot and just the bitter yet inviting cold/snow) but wanted more of this Strawberry Fields girl although I should have expected the amount given. 7/10 seems about right for it but it may be something I re-score after seeing it again (I just reminded myself of WFP ) and perhaps go into more detail on my thoughts. Guest DCAUFan1051
Is it just me or did this film seem very short? Anyone know if this storyline of the Craig films is done or will this continue into Bond 23? I think my favorite parts were the boat scene and the rooftop scene. R... oops I mean Q wasn't in this hmmm wonder where he was? Ahh well.... at least I didn't feel like I wasted my $1.06. I don't think I'll buy it to own though. slothian
Wasn't sure where else to post my thoughts because I just saw the movie and I'm taking it back to the RedBox in a few minutes. I don't think I'll buy it to own though. - I haven't seen QOS since it was out in the cinema but I remember it feeling slightly shorter than Casino Royale, which is probably about right as that film did feel pretty long. - The Bond-is-moody-over-Vesper storyline is pretty much over from what I gather, although I'll bet that Quantum is carried over. The liklihood is that more familliar elements might come into play from hereonin whilst retaining the more modern tone that Craig brings to the franchise. - I personally think it is a worthy follow-up to Casino Royale in how it continues the franchise, but as a film in its own right, it's a slight step down. I will get it on DVD although I'm not in a rush to do so - we don't review it until February next year.

One is the shortest bond film ever, the other is the longest.

But at the same time with all the technology out these days I doubt they would spin the clock back to 1960's Bond. I did enjoy Casino Royale and Quantum was ok. I think my favorite exchanges between any of the characters in either film are those of Bond and Felix. It's just funny to me. (not comparing just stating): However for me Brosnan packed more of a punch and style for me then Craig does.
