KnightWing
I'm digging this sound thing. The more TDK we can get on TV, the better.
dc20willsave
Other than some of the movies in the horror tribute weren't horror, good tribute. I didn't see Saw in there once so that was good and only one clip from Twilight. I love that Morgan Freeman made fun of his voiceover work. KnightWing
I didn't see Saw in there once I'm pretty sure I saw Jigsaw.
Venneh
Morgan Freeman making fun was awesome like that. Also, The Hurt Locker winning so much bodes well, methinks. Especially with everyone riffing on James Cameron. Jigsaw was in there for a second tops. Also, TimeLostBatman's tweeting really good tonight. JackFetch
The Hurt Locker seems to be this year's darling. They need to change the minor awards show to the nerd awards show. They had one woman out of like 40 people.
Koete
I didn't see Saw in there once I'm pretty sure I saw Jigsaw. You did.
Venneh
Cause it's Cameron's ex. Hell, if I could vote, I would vote against him wherever possible and for his ex, too. Also, the IB clip is absolutely wonderful.
dc20willsave
This is qickly turning into "The Let's Give James Cameron the Finger Show." I approve.
MaxPower
My sister noticed they have gone back to "and the winner is" instead of the politically correct "and the Oscar goes to", wonder if it was a directive or something that just happened. JackFetch
Follow @ebertchicago His comments are priceless. Tease: "Coming up! Twilight!" How stupid do they think we are? So only "Twilight" fans are watching? Hook those kids!
Venneh
New drinking game, folks: Drink every time someone takes a shot at Cameron or cringes at giving him an Oscar. Drink till blackout when the line "This Oscar sees you" is used. Also, so glad to see V being promoted. Especially with Inara playing the creepy leader. JAMES CAMERON IS NOT VISIONARY. Also, dude, all you did was shoot greenscreen. That is not cinematography.
JackFetch
Cinematography nominees don't even get pictures onscreen? Now the only part a lot of people care about: In Memorium
Venneh
TimeLostBatman No jokes during the memorial or you get punched.
KnightWing
Also, dude, all you did was shoot greenscreen. That is not cinematography. Technically it is. It takes every bit as much "vision" to craft a CG film; it's just a little easier.
JackFetch
Why did they put a journalist in the memorial? Also, one movie doesn't make Micheal Jackson a movie star.
Venneh
ebertchicago WTF? Cinematography for "Avatar" and all that CGI and green screen? Not for Basterds or White Ribbon? Amen, sir. Also, what's with the interpretive dance? The Up interpretive dance is missing the whole point of the movie! Also, the Avatar dance was horribly borderline racist stereotype. JackFetch
I always say to myself, "if the Oscars had more 80s pop locking it would be so much better". Watching these dancers make me want to throw money into their hat.
MaxPower
Hmmm, tempted to add to the bets I've already made, I think there could be an upset on the cards, just not sure which way it's going to fall.
dc20willsave
Oh god, interprative dance. Why did I choose last night to drink instead of right now? The music is beautiful but what does the dancing have to do with anything? And George Clooney's reaction to the camera staying on him for an extended amount of time? Classic. Venneh
The Up score never fails to make me bawl, not even associating with the movie.
JackFetch
The only Oscar Avatar actually deserves.
KnightWing
As one of those "creative types," I really appreciated Michael Giacchino's speech.
Venneh
Also, yeah, Michael Giaccino's speech was wonderful. Okay, I'm fine with Avatar winning that, though I would've preferred D9 to win. And at least they didn't say "This Oscar sees you" again.
MaxPower
The only Oscar Avatar actually deserves. Agree with that, but then they go and ruin it and thank James for his vision....
