  1. He named himself after Luke Cage and he's a very wealthy man, so he's a rich comic book geek.
  2. This isn't about which one was better; it's about which one you owned.
  3. This question has nothing to do with continuity, and everything to do with the politics of business. Why did Marvel finally tell Wolverine's origin? Rules for this thread are the same as the one in the Oratory:
  4. Fists: If this fight came down to trading punches (no weapons), Batman wins quickly. Sure, Cap is a great fighter, but Batman (next to Lady Shiva) is the greatest fighter in the world. Strategy: If this came down to battlefield strategy, it would be very close and I think they winner would be determined by where the fight took place. Cap has the advantage if it's NYC, and Batman has it if it's Gotham. Weapons: If this fight came down to using their respective weapons, Batman has more tools in his arsenal and therefore will use them to his advantage. However, Cap's shield is an extension of his right arm, so again this would be close, but I have to give it to Batman.
  5. I have the feeling we're going to get a lot of Batman v [someone] threads, and that's fine. This question, however, needed to be asked. This isn't a What If...?-type thread, so I don't want Batman v [someone] arguments breaking out in here. (I'll lock this if that happens.) Just state who you think could beat Batman and state why.

    Y-The Last Man

It's been a while since I read Y, but I love this book. DC/Vertigo surprised me a few issues into the series when they used the word "cunt" -- a longtime no-no for the publisher.
  7. Hey now! I'm taking great offense to that. :grumble: As on of the people who thought this arc was a little odd, I feel I must chime in. It's not that I don't like to think about my comics -- in fact, three of my favorite comics are Watchmen, Batman: The Killing Joke, and Batman: Arkham Asylum -- it's just that I didn't care to read about all these different ages. Despite that, I'm sure it was a good read.
  8. What am I smoking? Man, what are you smoking? Keifer IS John.
  9. HA! Wizard was so bad -- and I mean bad-bad, not cool-bad.
  10. This is a tough one. If it were smart green Hulk (or even the grey hulk) Batman might have some major trouble out witting someone so smart and strong, but since this is the traditional "Hulk smash!" Hulk (RE: stupid) I'll have to hand it to Batman after a very long and tough fight.
  11. Hey, Yarrik. Thanks for joining! No, I'm not going to lock it. It'll simply be moved to the appropriate forum.
  12. Feel free to start posting your reviews in both the comic book and video games forums, but save your columns until further notice.
  13. 10. Gladiator 09. Cannonball 08. Professor X and Magneto (tie) 07. Ultron 06. Thor 05. Hulk 04. Superman 03. Wonder Woman 02. Green Lantern 01. Silver Surfer Let me briefly explain why I ranked the mutant Cannonball one notch better than Gladiator. During his short stint on the X-Men, Cannonball had a run-in with Gladiator and actually beat him. It would seem that Gladiator's powers stem from his confidence/ego -- should it be broken, he weakens.
  14. Just read a rumor that Dead Phoenix might not be cancelled after all. Word is that it might become a Kid Icarus update.
  15. Mat for fighting games? Are you sure you don't mean the DDR dance pad?
  16. I too own that. It was great for Animal Crossing and playing old school Nintendo games, but it doesn't hook into the SP so it was pretty much useless once I bought that.
  17. From what I've seen, it looks like an Xbox 2 title -- that's how advanced it is.
  18. Show of hands, who owned Nintendo's PowerGlove? I sold my baseball card collection so I could buy this piece of garbage. What crazy/useless accessories will you admit to buying/owning?
  19. Some months ago, Wizard ran a letter asking who Peter Parker lost his virginity to, and (if I remember correctly) the general consensus was that it was Felicia Hardy (the Black Cat). So that got me thinking: Who did Clark Kent lose his to? He's really only had two women in his life -- Lana Lang and Lois Lane. If it was Lana, Clark would have been a teen, but I don't see them having "gone all the way" because of the strong morals their parents would have instilled in them. While I wouldn't call Lois a tramp, she's had her share of men. But her virtue isn't being questioned here -- her husband's is. If she was indeed Clark's first (and only?) sexual partner, then when did he lose it to her? They didn't get together until he was in his late 20s/early 30s. And so that begs another question: When did Clark lose it.
  20. Kiefer Sutherland should have been cast as Constantine. He has the age, look, gritty attitude, etc. Fuck Reeves.
  21. People will keep coming back because it is the original. Mafia and True Crime are ripoffs, and people know it. The rest of the genre could burn and die, but GTA will live for a long time.
  22. PlayStation 2, if only because I've had my Xbox but a month.
