  1. Something interesting occurred to me today, whilst rewatching BLINK (which I do every couple of months).

The Angels are all facing each other so they are frozen. But that depends on the overhead light being on all the time. What happens when the bulb goes or the power fails? Neither of which are out of the realm of possibility...

  2. I'm kinda hoping this one gets filmed also. I love Much Ado About Nothing.

Much Ado is most definitely my favourite of Will's plays. I think I've seen it three or four times on stage, and have watched the Emma Thompson/Kenneth Branagh movie several times. I don't expect either Tennant or Tate to do anything resembling their DW characters, but it doesn't hurt that they were both in the show. I think they have the spark together that B&B need to make it work. And it will interesting to see Tate act in something that isn't comedy or DW.

  3. David Tennant will be doing another Shakespeare play, his time he's going to be Benedict in Much Ado About Nothing. But the really big news is that Catherine Tate will be Beatrice! Starts in May in London. Here's the story

I found out yesterday and attempted to get some tickets. I say attempted because the booking website was down and the phone line was permanently engaged. I suspect that every DW/David Tennant fan was also trying the same thing.

  4. I think my favorite part of "Death of the Doctor" was the updates on some of the former companions.

Ian & Barbara got married and are professors. Harry Sullivan worked on vaccines though he's referred to in the past tense so implications are that he passed on. Ben and Polly are working at an orphanage in India, Ace started a company, and Tegan is an aborigine activist in Asutralia. Also, I liked that Ten's extended goodbye visits extended to all of his companions and that all that just happened off screen.

Sarah also says that Ian and Barbara are apparently immortal. At least I think thats what she said. A lor of the dialogue was drowned out by the music.

  5. I saw it yesterday. I won't say I was disappointed in it because I wasn't but there was just too much Tony and his ego and not enough Iron Man. I was entertained just fine, but there were points where it felt like it was juuuust starting to - almost - drag a little. I give it a 5 or a 6... but the bit after the end credits I will give a 10 just for... well you have to see it. :D

I guess I was spoiled by the first movie.

  6. Wait, Matt Smith stole MY gimmick?!? AND gets to touch Karen Gillan?

There is no justice in the world..... :shakehead:

    Sadly true...

Although Karen's getting a lot of crap for the short skirt. Out of everything, THAT's what people are focussing on?

  7. I feel I should clear something up. Adam isn't the only UK fan of this podcast :) I too am from the UK and an avid Doctor Who fan - in fact I might have sent you a feedback email a few weeks back, I'm not sure. Terrible memory is the first sign of rapidly approaching old age.

I was sitting in front of the TV at 6.20 on Saturday where I remained for the entire hour and six minutes. I will admit to considerable surprise at the casting of Matt Smith (My first reaction was 'But he's twelve!'. Later I decided to give him a chance to prove himself, maybe over a few episodes.

However there came a point during the first episode where I was convinced that he IS The Doctor. In an effort not to post spoilers all I will say is that he speaks two words and one of them is 'Basically'.
