  1. Games I desire to get

    Bonk

    Kirby Super Star

Still no Wii yet. I still have some enjoyment I plan on getting out of my other systems before I worry about making a purchase like this. But when I do, those are the two games I want right off the bat. By that point, they hopefully will have Kirby game released.

  2. The only game on there that I really haven't played much of was Final Fantasy X, and that game just did not interest me in the slightest bit.

Panzer Dragon Otra: Alright. I thought I'd like it better, but just couldn't get into it.

Star Wars: LOVED IT. Never got around to beating it, but was such a fun game till my game got ruined. Never went back to it.

Advanced Wars: Good game, I really did enjoy playing this game. I just always thought Fire Emblem was better.

Super Smash Brothers Melee: One of my most favorite games of all time. I've already gone on before why I've been voting for this game in other threads, so I see no reason to repeat myself. Awesome game and received my vote.

  3. I consider both game to be incredible, I just thought Melee was a bit better. I loved the sheer insanity of the game and the multiplayer brought me so many hours of fun. If you didn't like it, that's fine. But it has been the best selling Game Cube game of all time, plus the fact that there are actually quite a few people who are a huge fan of the game on this board(Unlike Halo). It has both sales figures and a fan following backing it up, so I see no reason that it couldn't have won.

Resident Evil 4 is an awesome game and truly revolutionised the series. If it had won, I wouldn't have complained one bit. But many have considered Smash Brothers as the game to get on the Game Cube ever since the system launched. So I believe Melee deserves to be up there on all accounts.

  4. All Mega Man games. Picked up Mega Man and Bass for the GBA for $9.99, I just couldn't pass that up for such little amount. Seems alright and nice to play an actual Mega Man game of the original blue bomber rather than his new versions.

Also got Mega Man XZ for the DS. Haven't played a whole lot of it yet as I've mainly started with the Bass game. It seems pretty solid so far.

And awhile back, I picked up the GC Mega Man RPG for dirt cheap, also. But that game has been pretty boring so far.

  5. Gamestop finally got their Wii kiosk today and I got to play it for a few minutes. I think I made the right choice. The only game they had running was the driving game where you turn the Wiimote sideways and use it like a steering wheel. On my first race after never picking it up before, I got the high score. It's way too easy, and the graphics are hard to take after playing the 360 on a high def tv.

    Show off. <_<

  6. They are? I swear I thought they were still going to be on regular cd's. It's suppose to be able to play music on the Wii, and if there's any possible way for the Wii to play DVD's than it has to be able to play regular cd's.

  7. I don't know, the concept just didn't interest me really. I like horror movies, but not quite huge on the themes that defined the genre. I also think you should've waited to see others respond to it before attempting at trying this out. No one really suggested the idea and you two were the only ones who appeared to be interested in it ever since it was brought up in the discussion thread.

Not trying to be mean about this or anything, I just think you should've waited for a bigger response before saying you were going to do this Tournament.

  8. It originally was suppose to, but they took the feature out so they could keep it at $249.99. Their belief was that people already have several different forms of a DVD player, and the use of having another wasn't worth raising the cost of the system. If I remember correctly, I think that's why.

  9. Wrote this on the Oratory, so I figured I'd post it here also.

Went to EB today and found a Nintendo Wii on display. Got try out Excite Truck and was getting my ass absolutely owned. Probably would've been good idea for me to look up the controls a little more, cause I had no idea what I was doing till someone eventually showed me how to work the thing. Even then, I was still getting my ass kicked all over the place. It was fun, but I think it was the wrong title to put on display for the Wii. You just don't have enough time to get the use to the game in such a short amount of time.

Or maybe I just flat out suck. That could be it.

  10. I love Resident Evil 4. It's one of the greatest Game Cube games of all time, and up there with some of the greatest titles of all time period. The work Capcom did to change the series was amazing and the graphics are some of the best I've seen.

BUT.... as great a game that was, Smash Brothers was just as amazing. I remember playing the original N64 version and thinking it was a pretty damn good game. When I got the Cube version, I didn't expect it to be a much better, but got blown away by all the things there was to do in it. Mechanics weren't cahnged much, but there was just so many little things to do in it and some of the stages were just extremly fun to play on. Having friends who actually liked the game didn't hurt it since I had lots of competitive battles against them to increase my enjoyment of it.

So yeah, Resident Evil 4 is an absolutely amazing game. But just barely gets beat out by Smash Brothers.

  11. Tetris DS: Nothing very different, but had a couple different types of game that were pretty fun. I enjoyed it.

Mario & Luigi Partners in Time: Pretty short, but very solid game.

Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow: I love this game. Absolutely love it and if you enjoyed any of the previous Castlevania games, this would be a great game to get.

Kirby Canvas Curse: Another game already mentioned. Innovative and very fun game.

Star Fox DS: Don't buy this. Game sucks badly.

Animal Crossing and Mario Kart are both fun games also. THough if you've already played through their past games, you might not care for them so much.

  12. Lowenstein: Don't Call Them 'Videogames'

The head of the ESA isn't down with the term that has described our industry for 30 years.

    by Daemon Hatfield

November 8, 2006 - During his keynote speech at the LA Games Conference today, Doug Lowenstein, President of the Entertainment Software Association, explained that he thinks the term 'videogame' is a detriment to the industry.

Doug Lowenstein, President of the ESA

"One of the worst things going for us is that we're called videogames," Lowenstein said. Part of his speech dealt with the rise of 'serious games' such as training programs and educational games for children. Lowenstein feels that the term videogames keeps many people from taking these serious games, and in fact the entire industry, seriously. He commented that the industry might not attract as much negative publicity if its products were categorized as something more serious than a game.

Presumably, Lowenstein would prefer videogames be referred to as 'interactive entertainment,' or 'entertainment software,' as it is the term the ESA, the organization representing the industry, has chosen. And although it showcased videogames, the Electronic Entertainment Expo went with a title that didn't mention games at all.

  13. Just wait until you attempt to rent a $100 PS3 game. First born sons, proof of Jesus' existence and a golden-egg-laying goose won't be enough to secure a rental.

    One...hundred...dollars?

Every time I learn more about the PS3, the more I think it's going to flop miserably.

Oh, and I meant to add this on. My friend and I went back to the Blockbuster with his credit card because we really wanted to try out a couple of games, and they said he needed TWO credit cards. Luckily, he and his wife have 5, so it wasn't a further problem, but good fucking grief, two credit cards???

Whoa, wait a minute. Two credit cards? Did they even give a reason for this one?
