    Episode 44

Big Damn Heroes has come to episode 44, and this is an episode of unexpecteds. Over on Buffy, one episode is an excuse for lackluster effects, and the other is not nearly as bad as we thought. On Angel, it's kind of difficult to talk about one of the episodes, and the other is just kind of there. But, one of the characters reaches the peak of their arc. Wanna guess who? Join Will and Hannah as they cover Buffy's "Gone" and "Doublemeat Palace," and Angel's "Birthday" and "Provider." Episode 28

After two years and 27 episodes, Ian and Dave finally reach the very last episode of Blake's 7. In "Blake," the Scorpio crew have destroyed Xenon base and are on the run. In a last-ditch attempt to try and establish a united resistance against the Federation, Avon takes the Scorpio to the lawless planet Gauda Prime where he believes he will find the only person who can be their figurehead: Roj Blake. They also look back at the highs and lows of series four, discuss why Blake is terrible at explaining himself, and why Slave is the most meta character in the whole show. Episode 292

Dread Media celebrates Easter Weekend the only way they know how: sacrilegiously! First up, it took the Gospel of Luke and Desmond to connect a black comedy about a resurrected killer clown to Jesus in their review of Stitches. Then, something goes horribly wrong when Devil Dinosaur Jr. tries to learn the stations of the cross and accidentally comes across a case of Stigmata. Now, turn to the hymnal and sing along to the following: "Cruci-Fiction in Space" by Marilyn Manson, "Three for Flinching (Revenge of the Porno Clowns)" by The Dillinger Escape Plan, "Stigmata" by Ministry, and "Ashes of Resurrection" by Strychnia. Amen. [ 1:03:56 || 30.9 MB ] To listen, click here: http://www.earth-2.net/podcasts/dreadmedia/episodes/dreadmedia_292.mp3
  10. After being thrust into a war, The Doctor becomes a family man ("The Doctor's Daughter"). Then, he and Donna help Agatha Christie solve a murder mystery ("The Unicorn and the Wasp"). Episode 43

This week, on Big Damn Heroes 43, shit is going downhill all around. On Buffy, a storyline that is both genuinely heartbreaking and incredibly frustrating comes to a head, and Spike and Buffy bring down the house. Literally. Over on Angel, Darla makes her final bow in a rather dramatic way, and Angel has to figure out the whole parenting thing with the help of Lorne. Wanna know Will and Hannah's thoughts on all the various goings-on? Tune in as they cover Buffy's "Smashed" and "Wrecked," and Angel's "Lullaby" and "Dad." Episode 291

It's a grab bag of gory goodness this week as Desmond, Adam, Jeff, and new co-host Brittney take a look at the British horror / sci-fi film Storage 24. Then Devil Dinosaur Jr. delves into the insanity that is Jean Rollin's Demoniacs in a brand new Stay Scary. Then, Darryll's back once again as he joins us to discuss the weird Romero-homage film Mimesis. The following tunes get a spin as well: "Horror Show" by Powerman 5000, "Hangar 18" by Megadeth, "Shipwrecked" by Alestorm, "Night of the Loving Dead" by Lordi, and "Who Will Help Me Bake This Bread?" by Propagandhi. 15. Dan and Wendee return once more to talk you through some more Books Without Pictures! This month, the topic of discussion is Kurt Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse-Five; either this is the most incredible book you've ever read, or there's something intrinsically wrong with you -- a deep pit of emptiness and ache in your very core that can never be filled. Either way, stay tuned for an announcement that may or may not rock the Internet to its foundations. [ 1:58:14 || 57.0 MB ] To listen, click here: http://www.earth-2.net/theshow/episodes/e2ts_612.mp3

    Episode 290

In an episode dedicated solely to the year 1932, Desmond is so blown away by the listeners' generosity that he bursts into song before getting into the bulk of the show. Up next, Chris joins us for a review of James Whale's Old Dark House. Then Devil Dinosaur Jr. gives us a Stay Scary segment on The Ghoul. (Technically it was released in 1933, but who's counting?) Then Adam, Jeff, and Desmond share laughs and adoration over the new Blu-ray release of the Bela Lugosi-vehicle White Zombie. There's songs too! "Horror" by Voivod, "Crazy" by Mushroomhead, "Ghouls Night Out" by Goldfinger, "Bela Lugosi's Dead" by Nouvelle Vague, and "Hallowed Be Thy Name" by Iron Maiden. RIP Clive Burr. 20. Once, a Hollywood producer said, "We live in a world that has remakes, and those remakes have to be produced by A Few Good Men with a vision. Who's gonna do it? You? I have a greater responsibility than you could possibly fathom. You weep for The Honeymooners, and you curse The Transformers. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know. That bad remakes, while tragic, probably made money. And their existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, were seen by millions. You don't want new content, because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want what you know, you need what you know. You use words like remake, reboot, retread. I use these words as the backbone of a system spent entertaining you. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to people who eat and drink what I feed them, and then questions what I provide. I would rather you just said thank you, and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you write a script and direct it. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you are entitled to!" It's Big Damn Heroes episode 42! Is "Tabula Rasa" the most depressingly funny episode, or the most funny depressing episode? What the hell is up with Darla's womb? What does Will have trouble swallowing? And which pairing do we wish had gotten more of a shot? Also, an old friend of the show makes a brief appearance!
