Oh man, I think I grew tired of Nostalgia Critic's schtick after about a year or so.
Did it get less wacky after a while? I just couldn't stand it.

The new DMC is pretty fucking great.

Fantastic show. Kristen Schaal kills it, as is to be expected, but who knew Jason Ritter could crush as a cartoon voice?
Even though I think Ritter does the part fine; it's also super obvious that it's a fully grown man voicing a 12 year old. That kind of threw me off the first time I saw the show.

You guys are acting like Crowe has been singing for close to three decades now, and should be able to hold his own next to Jackman.

I guess I just don’t see any problem with criticising the guy for making something I find really, really bad. We do it every day, for all kinds of media, for all kinds of reasons, and the fact that it’s free and hit’s a significantly smaller number of people shouldn’t disqualify it from being criticised.
Besides; at its peak, CAD was hitting 1.8million unique page views a month. It’s not on the same level as anything Bay has made, but it’s not insignificant.
-
I’m struggling to see how pooping on Michael Bay is any different to pooping on Tim Buckley. They both make stuff I don’t like and find kind of problematic in the grand scheme of things.
It’s all the same to me. I don’t see much point in separating them.

CAD has, and always will be an awful comic that somehow appeals to a huge number of people.
These last few strips have been amazing; a super serious end of the world melodrama that eventually leads to Tim's self insert character sacrificing himself and being heralded after his death. I don't think it could have "ended" any other way.

If you say so. She seemed relateable to me.

I’ve nearly finished the first season of Veep. It’s pretty great. Julia Louis-Dreyfus does great as a power hungry woman who struggles to make a legacy for herself as Vice President. But really, the whole thing is supported by an incredible cast. Especially Matt Walsh. The back and forths between all the characters are so fucking good.
The only thing I’d previously seen by Armando Iannucci was In The Loop, which I liked, but felt like a small scale TV show squeezed and mixed up to work as a movie. Veep feels a lot more natural. I just love how everyone is sort of teetering on the edge of losing complete control at all times. I like that they don’t make Selina into a Leslie Knope styled do-gooder either. Which is not to say I don’t love Parks And Recreation, but I like that she’s kind of a manipulative and power hungry and willing to make deals with bad people to forward her career. Her main strength is her ability to manipulate her staff to do what she wants, rather than being a force of nature herself.
Anyway. It’s a good show.

People understand that Lena is being critical of the way the characters in Girls act right? She's willingly skewing her self and people in her social circles for humour. We are supposed to find Hannah an entitled brat while also being still somewhat enduring and relatable.
Because that seemed super obvious to me after the pilot, but even though I've never felt compelled to watch any more of it, it kind of feels like a lot of the criticism glances over that.

I had a guy face chop me a little while back. It wasn't meant to be a face chop though.

For all the advances in science, doing research on health and exercise is much more of a chore than it should be. No one can seemingly come to a consensus on much of anything. I can find just as much evidence for protein shakes being useless as I can for them being beneficial. Same for any workout routine. Cardio is great for you. Cardio is horrible for you and can burn muscle. Resistance bands work, except when they don't.
I'm starting to run into the same sort of thing with diet research too. At my work, the only lunch options are fast food, so I'm trying to find an alternative that I can pack in the morning. Every article I find seems to assume that I live in the kitchen of a Panera Bread.
Protein shakes are great if you're trying to build muscle (like I am!) otherwise I probably wouldn't bother. They just aren't that filling or nutritious beyond being super high in protein, and if you're trying to satisfy hunger I'd rather just eat something.
I mean, that's what I do; meat, vegetables, eggs and nuts. That's what keeps me going every day and helped me lose a ton of weight. And it's what's helping me get stronger now.
I still do a ton of cardio most days, even though I'm weightlifting, because it's what I like to do. Cardio helped me lose a ton of weight initially, and I like the feeling of burning off a ton of calories. I really think the worries about burning muscle are overblown, and are probably really only an issue if you're pairing a significant amount of cardio with a low calorie diet.

Singer's had a few misfires here and there, but I like most of the work he's done. I'd be glad to see him come back.

Man, I love Brewdog's beers. Their Hardcore IPA is easily one of my favourite IPAs I've had.

Man, this should be good. I really liked Anya's Ghost, and Far Arden looks pretty fun.

I like the simplicity of it. But I always feel uncomfortable seeing people getting a knee to the back of the head. And that one in the video looks fucking brutal.

Considering that The Amazing Spider-Man made over $700 million worldwide, apparently not.
Was The Amazing Spider-Man shitty or just kind of forgettable and unnecessary?
That's not to say there aren't some pretty notable examples of crappy superhero movies making money (*cough* Wolverine *cough*) but I thought the general opinion of the new Spider-Man flick was still fairly positive.

I love Mike Allred.

Thanks dudes.

I've been making a point to watch it off the PVR, skip the filler and commericals, makes it much easier.
This is pretty much how I watch RAW every week. Even when it was a two hour show, I'd be lucky if I spent more than an hour watching it. That's why I'm not too bothered about the show being three hours now. At worst, it's just more stuff to skip through.

That would be Mazzucchelli though.

Awesome.

Saw this last night. It was alright.

Ted is probably the biggest reason why I’ve never been able to get into the show.
It’s like they painted a plank of wood to look vaguely human.
