  1. I'm really hoping they're sticking to the "original rumours" of having the Joker in this sequel whilst introducing Dent as a means of replacing Katie Holmes so that they can build to Two Face in a third (touch wood).

This is the correct way of doing things.

Moreover, I really liked the way they included 2 (maybe 3, if you count Falcone) villains in Batman Begins. I'd like to see them do that for the rest of the films.

  2. As the thread description states, spoilers ahead, so if you haven't read either (and you really should) stop reading now. I'm just going to keep typing like this so it looks like a whole paragraph, and then the next paragraph is going to be spoileriffic. But a paragraph is more than 2 or 3 lines, so I'd better type just a little bit more. Anyway, last chance to get off the train to spoilerville is now, just press alt and left at the same time, it's that easy.

So, I noticed a fair amount of parallels between the two (I'm not saying that Crisis is a ripoff of Halloween) but there are certainly striking similarities between the two. Like the fact that the killer is the wife of one of the main players in the story, and that there are several false murderers, or red herrings, I guess.

Identity Crisis is more complex, with Dr. Light and everything (and very cool, especially at the end where Batman is trying to find out what he was made to forget) but the Long Halloween is more plausible, and maybe even a little "darker". Crisis seems to come off as more of a mystery comic, whereas Halloween comes off as more of a dark mystery, if that makes any sense.

Anyway, did anyone else notice this?

  3. Well, let's be honest here: to get Halle Berry back, they had to give her more screen time. Halle Berry is one of the single worst actresses on the face of the Earth. She has a nice torso, though. Anything that ups Halle Berry's screen time makes me sad.

Then you have a complete tool like Ratner coming along and going "HEY LETS THROW IN A HOT CHICK WHO CAN ATTRACT ANYONE SHE WANTS OMG BOOBY TITTY TITTY LOL BOOB" and this movie is quickly degenerating into little more than a T and A fest.

I love X-Men and X-Men 2 very much. X-Men 2 is my favorite Marvel comic movie. But X-Men 3 is going to suck all kinds of dick.

  4. If F4 was written as a more "Adult" comic (like say, X-Men or the Ultimates) I definitely think the writers would play with the resentment Grimm has for Richards, if he can't blame him for getting transformed into the Thing, Richards can certainly be blamed for his failed attempts to transform the Thing back into a human.

I mean to say, Grimm has to bear at least a small sense of resentment for Richard's seemingly torturous half-transformations or temporary solutions. I really think Reed is the one person Grimm wouldn't hold back on. I don't think he'd hit Susan and Johnny's like a little brother, but Reed? I honestly think he'd try to dent him.

And really, I think he'd be successful. After fighting the Hulk or Juggernaut or whichever musclebound villains the F4 have fought (and there's gotta be at least a couple) he's got to have developed some precision. That precision would let him smoke Richards square in the jaw.
