  1. Oh, God. I've heard NOTHING but bad things about the English dub. I'm very interested in viewing Naruto, but I'm not at all looking forward to this new dub coming to America.

Run away. The Japanese version is amazing, so of course, something like what's going to happen to this has to happen.

  2. Yes that is true. But the belief is that it will be $500 and still lose money on sales. Which means once it lowers its price, it will lose even more money.

A great business tactic. Bleed ourselves dry. It's brilliant.

  3. Well, ever since I started at Hollywood Video, I've been making a point to inform the parents that their kids are attempting to rent an M rated game (I've seen as young as 9) and then ran down the content that is in the game and the amount of terrible things that you can do, and hear. Most parents? They look at me like I'm an idiot for informing them that they're pretty much a shitty parent if they rent this for their 9 year old.

I also make it a point to not allow kids to rent M rated games if they're under 17. Basically, the accounts have a level on there, and I simply tell them that the game is above the standard level that you can rent, sorry. It works.

We no longer carry GTA: San Andreas, by the way. I went in two days ago, and where it was occupying two shelves, amounting to almost 30 copies of the game, we had none. The cases and games have been taken down, and as they come back in to the store, we're putting them in the main office and probably sending them off to corporate.

  4. I finished Max Payne and have moved on to GTA: San Andreas.

Isn't that game so black, Q? The whole game is like Menace II Society turned up to 20 on the N-word Scale, 35 on the MF-word scale, and just 12 on plain foul.

Yeah, I don't think there's a white recurring character so far. Wait, scratch that, there's the pothead and his cronies. But yeah, it's a pretty big change in terms of characters from the previous chapters. I think the language is a lot more believable and the characters themselves seem a lot more real.

Every single person in the city is heavy on the word "asshole" in their dialect, though. I always crack up when somebody says it, just because it's said so often. And the shit CJ says to his girlfriend when they go out on their dates is hilarity x 12. "This is so interesting... I'm just gonna listen..."

Yeah, the dates are crazy. I just had one pull a driveby, and then on the way back, she was shooting at some sucka-ass Ballas and they opened fire and she caught about 17 well placed bullets and died. I wonder if that means no sex for CJ.

I couldn't get her to die. She sat in a burning car until it exploded, then got out and told me she wasn't having a good time and wanted to go home.

Another time, I really wanted to take her out using the pimp car that's always sitting outside her house, but the door was locked so I went about punching at it in hopes the door would just fall off. She got in the way a couple times and caught some jabs in the face by mistake, then went back inside.

Go to the Chicken place or OG Loc's restaurant, and there's an actual Pimp car there. It's the Broadway, and you can do Pimping missions in them. Take that one and when doing a driveby, she kind of lean out the side and start dumping rounds, leaving her open to gunfire.

  5. Thank you very much. And yeah, that moment when he puts out the small fire and everything goes black is seriously awesome, and just might be my favorite page in the entire book.

I was seriously on that page for a good ten minutes, replaying it from all kinds of angles and with different people under the mask of Batman. (Keaton is my favorite, but the voice that came out was the animated version for everyone)

  6. Mike, you certainly hit exactly my thoughts of this novel. I just checked it out of the school library two weeks before I graduated and I had to have read it at least 5-10 times the first week. It stands as one of the best Batman novels I've ever read. I still remember page 22, if I recall correctly, the page with the warning to all the underworld figures and corrupt cops? That page was brilliant.

Seriously, I could see pages from it while I was reading your review. It was awesome.

  8. I happen to fall under the Obi-Wan owns Vader based on what he did to him without the hinderance that the suit brings. I'm sure that suit isn't any help to Vader's ability with a light saber, because if you think about it, the suit takes enough damage and Vader's gonna die. His ability with the lightsaber in tandem with the force has got to save him, and I think that Obi-Wan in his prime could get him.

  9. Fun column, I was afraid you guys were gonna let this group column die and not bother doing another one of them. Glad to see that it's still going.

I appreciate that, because I take a lot of pride in my work, because I put a lot of effort into my work.

When me and Scriv do this, it's a lot of fun and usually a great conversation/argument.
