  2. Wait... so a human with no extra powers can beat Freddy, but the nigh-indestructible Wolverine can't...?

I already explained why Batman would beat Freddy, while Wolverine cannot.

    :toothy:

But with the whole thing not having to stay in the dream world, Logan could very easily win. Shit, even in the dream world, you have to fear Freddy to give him the power he needs to destroy you. Wolverine knows no fear, especially when he's gone all bezerker. With that lack of fear, he could feasibly manifest his own set of powers in the dream world, a la the kids in NOES 3: Dream Warriors. He's already damn near indestructable, like Yoda said, but in addition to that, he's not afraid of Freddy, and with the addition of whatever dream powers that Logan has in his head, this could be a quick lights out for Freddy, in the dream world or not.

  3. Thor = God

    Superman = Alien

God pummel strong alien. God uses magic, alien weak against. God smack Alien with hammer. Big hammer. Alien tries mount offense, God not like. God smack Alien with more magic and big hammer. Alien KO'd. God tired, Alien knocked out.

    Thor with the win.

  4. It occurs to me that they have a paysite available. If we were doing it first, and they ripped the idea off of us, or have debuted their idea after ours, at very least, shouldn't you take some action? That really blows, that they'd make money on an idea that for all intents and purposes, and definately in execution, is an Earth-2 thing.

  5. First of all Yoda, I think that putting it on the main page is Brilliant.

Thank you. It was always my intention to run these on the mainpage; I just never bothered to do it until now. What I'd also like to do (and this is off in the future) is to have Versus debates (through AIM or something). I'd serve as a moderator as two other writers had a back and forth concerning predetermined combatants. At the end, I'd decide who presented the better argument, and their character would be deemed the winner. Then, the entire conversation would be posted on the site for all to see.

I'd be up for that, if ou picked a guy that I could work with (I'm not the biggest comic buff)

    He means me, of course.

  6. I'd like to be the first to say that I like the dangerous, non-idiot portrayal of Bane more and more.

Bane is insanely strong, and his use of adamantium to reinforce his Venom tubes is a sign of the great tactician that he is. A healthy Captain America (which Cap isn't at this point), would be able to get out of the way of Bane's attacks, due to his overwhelming size and relative lack of speed. This tired Cap, however, will not be able to avoid as many strikes as he'd like, and to be truthful, enough to make this battle not so cut and dry. Bane has very few weaknesses in this portrayal, minus speed and the Venom tank. If Cap can get enough offense in, he could damage the tank, causing many problems for Bane.

If Captain America takes too much of Bane's offense, then he will not be able to do much in the way of dodging, and will, as a result continue to take even more damage until his breaking point. He's at a major disadvantage, and I think the surprise of not being able to break Bane's tubes will give Bane an early advantage. Lights out for Cap.

    Result: Bane wins.

  7. The robot is completely logical, logical to a fault, and Robo takes advantage of it.

    ummm.... how?

    Yeah, the T800 isn't logical. It's single-minded.

Logan: If you think RoboCop takes it, why is he without votes...?

Single minded, logical to a fault, Robo still uses his human cunning and instincts that T800 has none of, to find a way around the advanced robot.

    Yoda: Oops. :*

  8. Using the capabilities of his visor/OS, Robo finds a point of weakness in T800's seemingly indestructable frame. T800 is of course, more advanced technology, so it catches on to Murphy's plan, and attempts to stop him from putting it in to action. He's not successful because of the one thing that Murphy has over the robot. Common sense. The robot is completely logical, logical to a fault, and Robo takes advantage of it.

    Robocop=win.

  9. Joker's shocked to see Castle react as fast as he did and Castle destroys his neck. In the time it takes for him to die, Joker gets three shots off, one of which clips Castle in the leg. They're both wounded, but Joker will eventually die of major blood loss, while Frankie Boy will gimp away.

  10. Depending on what you're into, I have some suggestions.

    Sports:

Madden 2005, football (American), a great title, if you've ever played a Madden title, it's just the same greatness with the necessary additions to keep gameplay somewhat fresh. Online.

NCAA Football 2005, football (American), solid, college ball is way different than the pro game, and there are tons of ways that this game is just as worthwhile as the Madden game. Look for a review as soon as I have some solid time on my hands. Online.

ESPN NFL 2k5, football (American), the 2k style is different and refreshing, especially when one is used to playing Madden. Great title, super deep Franchise, fun online, solid overall.

NHL 2005, hockey, solid series, can't remember all the great things this game has to offer, they're so plentiful. Online, if I recall correctly.

NFL Street 2, football (American) but just barely, it's like playing football out in the streets with your friends, but inviting NFL players and breaking all the rules of physics. It's good fun, and online, but it gets tiring fairly fast.

ESPN NHL 2k5, hockey, Great title. Hockey is incredibly fun to play online, and this title reminds me of NHL '94 sometimes. I love it. Some copies have a problem with freezing, but it's almost forgivable in the face of the awesome gameplay.

  11. Kuja > Sephiroth

And I'm prepared to fight for that.

And I've got your back on that Jim. Completely fucking agree, with both you and Cheap. FF IX is the best one of the Playstation Final Fantasies. It stands as the first game that made me teary eyed, and the first RPG that I actually loved so much that I played through 3 times back to back to back. Awesome.

  12. Alrighty. Resident Evil 4 just came out, I've played a little of it, thought it was brilliant. It's got me all into this series again. I'm a huge RE fan, from way back, but I need a contrasting viewpoint's input, because if I review it, or do a piece on the series history or characters or something like that, it will be littered with RE fanboyism. Does someone want to be my anchor? Or do I need one at all?

  13. Spawn is one of those rare beings that Batman cannot possibly beat.

Darkseid, Galactus, Silver Surfer, the Spectre, Parallax, Thor, (any Asgardians, really), Juggernaut, Doomsday, "smart" Hulk, Thanos, Surtur, the Phoenix, Magneto.

As Drq said, any villain that isn't a psycho would fuck Batman.

Right up the ass even. Batman isn't all powerful, and his skills of preparation are very good, but really, I doubt he could prepare for some super powerful being, such as Juggernaut to rape him through his suit.

  14. The Civil War was fought over the South exporting cotton to other countires (mainly Britain if I remember correctly) and trying to become self-dependent by building factories to process their own cotton. The North didn't like that and found another reason to go to war to stop the South from achieving that. Slavery. That fact doesn't make slavery any less wrong, but it does make the North look pretty stupid, because there were slave holders in the North.

But really, when I see the flag, I see a divided country, a reminder of an ugly war, and most of all, death and callous disregard for the human rights of seemingly everyone involved. Just uglyness associated with that design. It's a shame. People who buy into the whole racsim thing and use the flag to display that are also pathetic.
