  1. For some reason I stopped watching any show over the back half of their respective seasons.  Time to catch up.

iZombie has went downhill so fast this past season.  Not that it was on that high of a hill to begin with.

Riverdale has this thing.  It isn't good.  All the characters are not good people (save maybe one).  They can't stop with the murder-killin'.  Yet, I enjoy it?  Maybe?  Why?

Blindspot is a show that no one watches.  It had an interesting enough mystery for the first season and second season to finish it off.  This third season hasn't been the greatest, but still had moments.  Then the season finale had to go all 'last 3 episodes of Chuck' and I say fuck that.

  2. I love Air.  I really do.  Moon Safari is most likely my favorite album.  Not just by Air, I mean favorite album full stop. I come to realize that in the past year.  And yet, I find a concert on YouTube and it really weird to see them play.  Kinda like peaking behind the curtain and seeing the true Oz.  So weird.

  3. It always amazes me how the same company that put on an outstanding Takeover that left me satisfied, energized and anticipating the next chapter also put on a Wrestlemania that left me confused, tired and wondering why I bothered.

  4. The one that always sticks out:

For some reason I bring Rihanna to board game night at my friends house.  But first, I have to get everybody to sign an NDA.  But when my friend takes a picture his victory in some game, he gets Rihanna in the background.  And for some reason, with his 33 followers, it goes viral.  And this, again for some reason, lands me in a 'rap beef' with Drake.  Which then leads to a tag team rap battle in the Skydome after a Blue Jays game.  Only, Jose Bautista homers in the 9th (major bat flip) to send it into extras.  And then I wake up.

  5. Just finished season one of The Gifted.  Not sure how I feel about it.  Ramblings below.

    Spoiler

It is not an feel good show.  Didn't really expect it to be, and it really shouldn't be.  That is the point after all.   Yet, I felt it needed some 'win' for the good guys.  We never got that moment to relax.  Even for a moment.  Yeah, the face punching might have stopped for a few minutes, but that was just because they wanted to get a few kidney shots in.  Maybe this a byproduct of the binging.

My knowledge of the X-peoples is pretty useless really.  Yet I never felt like I was missing out on who these people were.  I like that.  The powers they went with are TV budget friendly, but felt right.  Was a little worried an overpowered mutant constantly being taken out to make the plot work.  That said, based on the story being told, I could have used a few more non-passing mutants.  I think there were 4 the entire season.  And two of those could have just used some makeup and contact lenses.  Not saying go full Morlocks, but more would have been nice.

The heel turns at the end were not all that surprising.  Lorna was SUPER annoying the entire time.  And of course you split the kids up.  Kinda interested in where season two goes, as it seems more 'not' X-Men vs. Hellfire Club, and way less mutants vs humans.  And would it kill one of the mutant teams to just play baseball.  I'd settle for indoor wiffle ball.

  6. Reason why I still listen to randomness from the library or in the 4/$1 bin at the Goodwill.  Yeah, mostly mediocre, sometimes bad, but then you find gems like the Carolina Chocolate Drops.  So worth it.

  7. I finally had a chance to watch WK12 yesterday.  And good lord that was a marathon.  WWE gets a lot of flack (and deservedly) for their 'more is more' stance on their big shows.  NJPW gets a pass and they really shouldn't.  Yes, the New Japan shows are better top to bottom. I feel that is not debatable.  But WK12 took me all day to get thru.  I had to take several breaks.  I hit an absolute wall during Tanahashi/White.  Not sure I recovered for the main events.  I just makes the entire experience less enjoyable than they should be.

As for that card itself, it was quite good.  Don't think I am as blown away as some of the reviews I have been reading.  My best match was probably the Jr 4-way.  Worst matches were both tag matches; traditional and 6-man.  Jericho/Omega was good.  Okada/Naito was better.  Okada's pants were the best.

  8. It is Rumble season and I am surprised that almost none of the Mania card is known.  Lesnar vs. Reigns is the only match.  Everything else seems fluid.  Don't know if that shows a lack of long term planning or things being kept secret for once.

  9. I know the rule that no one cares about your fantasy team except you.  And it is completely true.  However, I just won my long time league over my arch-rival.  On the literal last play of our season.  Which was a fumble recovery returned for a TD by the Eagles as time expired on MNF.  The Eagles are his team.  The ensuing trash-talk and general mockery from the entire league the past 48 hours has been absolutely glorious.  I have been kinda down on fantasy lately, but this has been the most fun.

  10. The Last Dragon - Been sitting on my coffee table since I saw Taimak on UpUpDownDown.  Fun.  Just fun.

Cry-Baby - Soundtrack came up on random on my drive home, so why not?  "Electricity killed my parents!" may be my favorite movie line and I don't really know why it makes me laugh so hard.  But it does.  Every time.

  11. Atomic Blonde - Looks awesome and I love the soundtrack.  Has one really great fight scene and not much else.  Plot is nothing new, which I don't really care about, but I was just bored.  And if I never see another spy film where the last ten minutes just devolves into a series of 'shocking turns' it will be too soon.
