  1. Well, it is a movie.  But at some point a thought popped into my head.  Marvel did this already.  Like this felt like a mid-to-low tier Marvel movie.   But I'd rather have this than the borefest that was BvS.

    And the CGI is horrible.

    Spoiler

But my main thing is the Superman of it all.  His involvement in the movie made everything unnecessary.  Team forms, gets ass kicked, Jesus Superman, he kicks their ass, bad guy kicks their ass somemore, Superman, success!    I get the 'World Needs Superman' of it all, but shouldn't the world need the others as well?

Granted, this may be my dislike of all things Superman that are not Dean Cain showing thru.

  2. I liked this, but I think they went a little to far with the haha.  And no even about the serious vs. jokey thing.  Kinda felt like they were afraid for Thor to just be a badass.

    Spoiler

Like, Thor being awkward when talking about Valkyries or the spinning in the beginning.  The right about of funny.  Thor knocking himself in the head breaking a window?  Not so much.

    Oh, and

    Spoiler

I hated the way 2/3 of the Warriors Three were treated.  At least let them die in battle like Hogun.

  3. I'm gonna double down on my too many characters comment.  Yeah, they focus on the Core 4, but everyone else is barely there.

    Spoiler

Betty is fucking stupid.  Just tell the cops already.  Fine the first time.  Fucking stupid every time after that.

I'm not feeling this season at all.  Yeah, the first season had the murder mystery to solve.  But it also had the high school shit of football team, dating and parent drama.  This season has none of that.  It has just turned into a weak, way too serious bad horror drama.  Don't know if I'll stay around for that show.

  4. I don't know.  The season has felt flat.  And watching the third episode, it kinda struck me as to why.  There are So. Many. Characters.  And it seems like they are adding more people like Moose & Reggie.  And Daddy Lodge.

    And in response:

    Spoiler

If anyone is going to die, I'm gonna go with Sheriff Keller.  Seems like his death would further both Kevin's & Archie's storylines.

I got the the impression that Moose & Kevin are already doing the 'friends with benefits' thing.

And yes, Archie shoots someone.  While he is high on the Jingle Jangle.  And that someone will be Hermione , when Archie tries to shoot Hiram.

And the killer is, fully investing in the stupid train, Archie's biological dad come back to help his son live a more pure life.

  5. So I'm watching Power Rangers Time Force.  I get to episode 6, in which a school bus full of kids is hijacked and they are held for ransom.  Immediately, I think of my favorite episode of Walker, Texas Ranger (Cyclone) which just so happens to have the same plot.   Naturally, I find it on dailymotion and watch it with way too much glee.  (Off topic: Walker digs out the school bus, which had been buried by heavy machinery, with his bare hands.  Oh, and a tornado is ten feet away.  Too much glee.)

Didn't hit me until the end.  The 'Villain of the Week' on that specific episode of Walker is  *check IMDB* Edward Albert, a main cast member of Power Rangers Time Force.  I love weird coincidences.

  6. So the Mae Young classic is over.  And now I can state fully that I disliked pretty much everything about it, except for the actual wrestling.  The wrestling was fine to very good.  The actual tournament was well done with enough surprise winners to keep things interesting.  I don't like the fact a lot of focus was put on a famous person sitting in the front row, but I get it and it is what it is.

But I did not like how they presented the series at all.  The 'binge' watch rollout was a horrible idea.  Going the CWC route of one episode a week after NXT worked so much better.  I was given time to digest, think, anticipate and want more.  This did not. When the second set came out, less than 24 hours later, their own WWE youtube page uploaded interviews with winners. In my head, that implies that they expected me to watch on Monday.  And now I have spoilers by just opening an app.

And having the finals come off as some thrown together afterthought, sandwiched in between two other shows.  Give it more of an event feel, instead of showing the four in the crowd, have the other competitors have a tag match.  Showcase some of this new talent you have coming in.

But the in ring was good.  Hopefully this breathes some life into the very stale women's divisions on all three shows.

  7. Anybody else having an issue with the podcasts stopping in the middle of downloading?  I just kinda assumed it was a me issue.  However, for the past month or so, all E2 podcasts have stopped and have taken 2-3 download restarts to finish.  All of my other podcasts download fine.

  8. Re-purchased a trade for the sole reason that it was the wrong edition and the spine did not match the rest of the volumes.  Granted, I originally bought the entire run of trades for a buck a piece and the replacement was three bucks.  But it still annoys me that it annoyed me.  But, now I can look at the book shelf and not have that OCD part activate.

  9. Pinocchio, Vampire Slayer - Surprisingly enjoyable.

Shadoweyes - Decent story in here somewhere, but the pacing is horrendous.  Feels like I'm only reading the even number issues, and those randomly have five pages missing.

Explorer: The Mystery Boxes - Anthology collection about boxes.  As always, hit or miss, but with more hits.

  10. Midnight Sun - A semi-fictionalized story of an airship crash near the North Pole in the late 1920s.  While I liked it, this could have been so much more.  Felt a little like short vignettes more than a complete story.  Read that it was supposed to be 6 issues and got cut to 3.  It really shows.

Loki: Agent of Asgard - I gave this every chance I could.  I really did. I pushed thru the first trade.  I tried crawling my way thru the second, but I said fuck it and stopped half way.  I think I read probably 7 issues and I have no idea what is going on.  There is new Young Good Loki, but also Old Evil Loki.  But the Old is New and the Good is Evil but Good.  And then I think another Loki shows up?  Maybe. Look, I know things came before, but this in no way helps me out.  Major things are happening surrounding this and I have no idea what those are.  And then I think a couple events happened.  I think.

I picked these up at the library because all three trades were right there.  Same as I did with Hawkeye.  I was able to follow those with a flowchart, google and a 30 minute YouTube video.

  11. Somewhat not so randomly, I've been (very) slowly watching the G1 from 2015.  Only 3 days in, so it will take a while.  Watching shows without commentary so just odd.  But that is not the main takeaway so far. No that would be that I hate the High Fly Flow.  Hatred.  Love a good Frog Splash, HATE the High Fly Flow.

I finished a marathon rewatch of Chuck over the weekend.  .....  Overall this is a very fun, super lightweight show that's one of the most bingeable series I've ever seen.

I really loved Chuck when I first marathoned the show.  And while I still enjoy it, rewatching it a few (okay, more than a few) times has revealed a flawed, but as stated, fun show.  You can really see that production was not really the smoothest.  It really is one of those 'once seen cannot be unseen' things, but the editing is horrible.  And the network ordering additional episodes for seasons 3 and 4 is really noticeable.  Both seasons end with a big moment and then keep on going with no real direction.

The guest stars are a lot of fun.  Timothy Dalton is just so much fun.  And John Larroquette is a great for a laugh.  As for the main cast, I agree with the Buy More staff being kinda pointless after a while.  Chuck 'works' at the Buy More as a cover, but midway thru season 3, Sarah stops having a job.  But Sarah stops doing a lot of things.  Like being a badass.  Can't have that for some reason.

Interested in hearing your thoughts on the finale (or really the last 3-4 episode arch).  It has never sat well with me.  Seemed like a drastic shift in tone for what was a very light, fun show.
