The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe: Tilda Swinton really is the star here. The child actors aren't bad but this is 100% her movie.
Planet Terror/Deathproof: I ended up watching Grindhouse. Planet Terror is definitely the better of the two films but the last 30 minutes of Deathproof almost make it worth watching.
Iron Man: Starting a slow rewatch of all of the Marvel films this year, taking my time though. Iron Man feels very different from the films that came after it. It's not trying to create connective tissue like in most other films, the look and feel is different, it's just so obvious that the MCU connections came later when it became successful.

The Unicorn: It's a film about a couple trying to have a threeway. It's not bad but it slowly hits some Chasing Amy areas that I started to dislike.
Beetlejuice: One of my favorites. It has some problems but from a production standpoint, it's a standout!

Midnight Kiss: I've found Hulu's "Into The Dark" series has been iffy at best from the films in it that I've watched. Midnight Kiss is the first one I've enjoyed. It's a slasher film with a largely gay cast and a gay director and it really shows. It's so rare you get one gay character in a slasher who's not a stereotype, let alone a cast of them so this was nice to have gay men that sound like gay men.
Devil's Pass: So I figured, hey, I watched one gay themed horror film, why not make it two. It's not terrible but it wasn't a good film.

Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension: Got bored and couldn't find anything too interesting so there this on in the background. It wasn't too bad.

Final Thoughts: I wasn't expecting to hit 200 this year but here we are. A combination of Disney+, Halloween, and Christmas really put things over. Honestly, I'm more excited for a New Year so I can watch a movie without having to try to remember if I'd watched it yet this year.

Miracle on 34th Street: The original. One of my two favorite Christmas movies. It's just so charming and sincere in what it is.
A Christmas Story: This is my go to Christmas movie for when I have other things I feel like doing. It's not bad, it just kind of is that movie that I can easily tune-out while working on stuff.
Santa Claus: The Mexican Christmas film, the MST3K version. One of my favorites because the film is just so absurd, the riffs are all on point, and it just all works.
The Nightmare Before Christmas: This year, its a Christmas movie. I'll decide what it is again next year.
A Rocky Mountain Christmas: It's this weird Dolly Parton film from the 80s. It has orphans, Lee Majors, and a witch with big hair named Jezebel. How can I not love it?
Christmas Vacation: My other favorite Christmas film. I've said a lot about it in the past. It's one of the two Christmas movies that really hit me in the feels every year (The Night Before is the other one). It speaks to this Melancholy I always have by the end of Christmas every year.

The Beautiful thing about Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2 is that you can watch the film without having seen the original because the first 45 minutes is literally just a clip show of the first film.

Slay Belles: It's a fairly amusing Christmas Horror Movie. It has a hick Santa, the Krampus, and some bad ass women.
A Bad Moms Christmas: I enjoyed the original. This one was a little less enjoyable though the older actresses definitely did bring something interesting to the proceedings.
Same Place, Next Christmas: ABC's attempt at making a Hallmark Film is alright. Far from a terrible film but still unremarkable.
Beauty and The Beast: The Enchanted Christmas: It's not great but it has a few highlights in the middle of the many lowlights.
Babes in Toyland: The one from the 80s is really weird. Like super extra weird.
Home Alone 2: Lost in New York: Kevin has had a year to think on the fact that he could have died and two men should have died by his hands. He isn't putting up with his family's shit anymore. He commits Credit Card fraud. He's a lot more harsh in his attempts to kill The Sticky Bandits. Kevin is well on his way to becoming Jigsaw.

Cats: On one hand, it's better than I was expecting. On the other, I was expecting a a vastly ineptly made train wreck. Instead, what I got was an ineptly made train wreck. It's a bad movie with a few catchy performances but I walked away wondering, "Why the hell?"

Star Wars: The Last Jedi: Depending on the day, I might call this the best in the series. There are just so many levels it works.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: I have thoughts. I'll put them in the thread later. Suffice to say, it's not my favorite Star Wars. It's not my least favorite.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part 2: Mostly just had it on because I was waiting for other people to show up for D&D.
The 12 Dates of Christmas: It's a cute Made-For-TV Christmas movie. It's a Groundhog Day loop film with a pretty set time frame. Not bad. It makes sense that this was one of the only ABC Family movies that came to Disney+.
The Night Before: Definitely one of my favorite Christmas films of the last few years. As a person who eschews Christmas with other people, who fully subscribes to chosen family, it definitely speaks to me.
Home Alone: I grew up with it. Its far from a perfect film but it's one that I return to every year because it's tradition.

Goat: It's a film about toxic masculinity and the Greek Fraternity system. It's a film. Not sure if I ever started to enjoy it at any point.
Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2: So, the first half is all recap of the original film but the second half is pure hammy hold!
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire: There's a lot more world building but it suffers from existing as set-up for the next film. Still, it has it's merits.

Santa and the Ice Cream Bunny: I watched the Rifftrax Live version which has a Jack and the Beanstalk film in the middle instead of Thumbellina. It's just as nonsensical as the other version and somehow both better and worse.
Star Wars: Episode 2: Attack of the Clones: It's two movies. One is about a young woman who is slowly worn down by a man who has violent tendencies and has basically spent years obsessing over her. The other part is Obi-Wan Kenobi: Space Detective. The Latter is a much better film that I hope is what we get from the Disney+ film.
The Black Hole: Huh. It's to be commended for being so out there but what we have is a Disney film from the late 70s that is trying to be both Star Trek, 2001, and Buck Rogers with some goofy robot stuff. Visually, it's interesting enough.

The Sword in the Stone: I remember thinking on this one fondly when I was a kid. There are moments I enjoy (The Wizard Duel is a terrific sequence) but as far as climaxes go, the film doesn't really have one. Still, it's not bad.
Return to Oz: Premium grade nightmare fuel. I liked it when I was a kid, I still like it but Jesus Fuck is this full of scenes that still creep me out.

The Hunger Games: It's a good film and Jennifer Lawrence shows off why she would become a star. There are times that the shaky cam just fails the movie though.
Star Wars: Episode 1: The Phantom Menace: There are elements that work but there are just as many that don't. In the end, it's an okay film but pales in comparison to the originals.
Thor: It's okay but compared to the Thor we would even have a movie later in The Avengers, he's just so humorless.
The Dark Crystal: A friend wanted to watch it. I'm still not a big fan but, ehh.
The Babysitter: It's a gory horror comedy that has very few lulls. I had fun!

I'm planning to show this to some friends next month for a movie night so I'm glad to hear. I'm a fan of the original cut so I can't wait!
